Question for the Married Folks

How romantic was the "proposal"? Did you plan it all out and shock your wife? Does this actually matter to women?

Amber (Ambah) on survivor didn't seem to care much about the suprise on the finale...i'm begining to question if women care anymore about how its done, as long as they get their diamond.

Mine was very simple, it was more like a conversation with my best friend than a show with drama, surprise and expensive flair. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Wasnt romantic at all, it was just real.

Showboat proposal antics are for showboat people, not that its bad, just different strokes for different folks.

When 2 people are in truly in love, the proposal comes without saying.

When you know, you know and the proposal shouldn't matter.

I just knew I had to give her the ring before I lost it. It was pretty spontaneous. She went into the humidor on the yacht and there was the ring on a Cuban Cohiba.

there's no better moment for a lot of reasons. There's no worse moment for a lot of reasons. All of them make that moment something to remember

My engagement ring to my wife was a plastic fuzzy thing you get from those machines for a quarter. We got some plain silver bands made by a friend as the wedding rings.

Although we are separated now, our marriage lasted 14 years and produced two excellent children, and we may still re-unite, who knows. Although recently my wife has started asking for matching furniture, so I think I will have to produce the diamond if I want to continue in this adventure

My guy had proposed to me many years before but we had never planned anything. When we had been together for 8 years and already had 2 kids together I was tired of calling him my 'boyfriend'.

He worked a graveyard shift that night, and during the day, while he was sleeping, I booked a wedding and reception. He woke up in the afternoon and I told him when and where to show up. He was like 'uh, ok....'

We now have a third child and have been through a lot of stuff together. We're going on 14 years together this year and I wouldn't trade him for anyone in the world

So, to answer your question...if she loves you for real, the drama means nothing.

I plan on net sending my proposal. Either that, or I'll assign her a task in Outlook.

Today is my 9 year anniversary BTW but...

Ours was just what it was. Nothing overly dramatic but special still. We knew what was up. I was a freak...she was a freak. Hell we were having anal sex on the second date. It was a match made in heaven...

Make it simple but slightly romantic. Do it sloppy, or half hearted and you will NEVER forget it. So make it sweet and simple....

Women never forget what their men do wrong...

Mine was also like a conversation with a best friend. Or at least a best friend with benefits.

After four years of dating my the girlfriend blurted out "when are you gonna get me a ring?". Being as she is a red head that can suck a golf ball through a garden hose without spitting it out, I jumped and got the ring.

When I got it to the house I was shaking. I got down on one knee, but she knew it was coming.

It's been a gravy train ever since then.

The ladies always dream of a romantic proposal. Esp. when they've been expecting you to pop up the question for quite some time.

I proposed to my now ex-fiance in the middle of the night at the top of a tower at a local amusement park (closed, but I had access at the time). Nothing but rides lit up around us etc. Not one other person in the park. It was kinda cool. Too bad it didnt work out in the end. Shrug.
