Do you realize how fucking big the universe is?

There are 50 to 100 billion galaxies and every galaxy holds 50 to 100 billion stars.

Our nearest star is 4.3 light years away. Light travels at 300.000 km's per second. (thats like 230.000 mph i guess)

The universe is so fucking big it makes me dizzy just trying to understand it.

Also thinking life doesnt exist except on earth is pretty retarded when you think of all this.

Also the universe is expanding with 1.5 million km's a day...in every direction. basically all the seperate galaxies are moving away from eachother.

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the 'Milky Way'.

Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It's a hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide.
We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.
We go 'round every two hundred million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.

It's impossible for humans to comprehend this.

Absolutly amazing. People don't realize how tiny we are.

- The possibility of a star having planets around it is very slim.
- Until a few years ago there was no proof planets outside the Solar system even existed.
- The planet has to be at the right distance to the star for life to exist.
- There is a very slim chance for the chemicals to exist on a planet to allow life develop.
- There are over 6 million species on earth, yet only 1 of them is smart.
- Humans have been around only for haha.06 of the earths history so far.

All this on top of eachother reduces the chances of intelligent alien life to so small, even having trillions of stars in the universe does not give you reasonable odds

For intelligent people that I know you all are, its hard to imagine you think they aren't here already.

You can go back to the caves of the ancient civilizations on earth and find scratched drawings on the walls of spaceship like objects coming from the sky and pictures of man like creatures with helmets on their heads.

You can find docu mented military, law enforcement, and NASA records of sightings of saucers. Not just one incident, but thousands of reports.

You can find official current Air Force manuals with chapters devoted to procedures for filing CIRVIS reports when encountering UFO's. Between 1948 and 1969 the Air Force investigated 12,618 reported UFO sightings. 701 reported sightings remain unexplainable.

Where do you think all the advanced technology all of a sudden came from in the past 50 years. Look at the timeline. As soon as we discovered nuclear power, there was an enormous surge in UFO activity in the US and in Russia. Coincidence?

Then all of a sudden the technology curve zooms straight up and we have transistors, electronics, lasers, electromagnetics, space travel, satellites, and all sorts of high end exotic technology inventions coming out. Contact was made over 50 years ago.

The Universe is only large if you look at it in the perspective of our own time space. You have to think beyond this dimension and realize once you master the ability to control the time space continuum, the universe is actually easy to navigate and travel around in because you no longer are affected by time.

What is there becomes what is here in the blink of an eye.

The stars you think you see are no longer even there. That is ancient light we're seeing. Billions of years old.

Nothing is what it seems because its being looked at with the wrong perspective.

Your mind can travel beyond the speed of light. To think light is the fastest speed limit is ridiculous. Things can be done instantaneously without the limitations of that factor once you can navigate within dimensions that most earth minds can't even conceive or comprehend.

Open your mind, not just your eyes, its all there for you to see.

All this on top of eachother reduces the chances of intelligent alien life to so small, even having trillions of stars in the universe does not give you reasonable odds
Well, first of all, the current known number of stars in the universe is at least 70 sextillion (see http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/space/07/22/stars.survey/). That is written as:
70,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

One trillion is written as:
1,000,000,000

The figure of 70 sextiliion is only in the visible universe. That is, the universe we can reach with modern astronomical equipment. I read somewhere that estimates for the total number of stars in the universe run in the range of 10^24, or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. So, even if the conditions for life are as rare as you think they are, it is still not only likely but almost certain that intelligent life exists elsewhere in our universe.

Now, on to the issue of whether or not life is as rare as your post would indicate:
1) The idea that life needs the conditions as we do to exist is pretty silly. Over and over again you hear, "Life needs oxygen!" However, it has recently been discovered that as much as one third of life on our planet may live in methane environments beneath the ocean floor. Oxygen is not only unnecessary to those life forms but actually poisonous. Just because a planet does not meet our conception of a nice place to live doesn't mean nothing can evolve there.
2) The only planets we have experience with are those in our solar system. Here's a thought: at least 1:9 of the planets we have knowledge of harbor intelligent life.
3) We did not know for sure until recently that there are other planets circling other suns. Now we know. Imagine what we'll know fifty years from now.
4) This is all based on a finite universe. If our universe is truly infinite (which I do not believe), then there are an infinite number of suns with an infinite number of worlds harboring an infinite number of intelligent races. There must be an infinite number of races just like ours and an infinite number of worlds where the populations speak English, French, Dutch, Spanish, German, etc. There must be an infinite number of planets that the inhabitants call earth revolving around an infinite number of stars known as Sol. There must be an infinite number of General Motors factories in an infinite number of Detroits. In infinity, everything that is possible must exists an infinite number of times, that includes intelligent life.

If you manipulate the electromagnetic gravitational field that number becomes meaningless.

NICE, found what i was looking for:

The Drake Equation

Frank Drake began investigating extraterrestrial intelligence in 1960. He was the first person to consider the different factors (as explained above but here I will give the equation). Here is the Drake Equation which tells us the chances of us meeting aliens.

N = N(s) * f(p) * n(e) * f(I) * f(i) * f(c) * f(L)

Where:

N is the number of communicative civilisations in the galaxy.

N(s) is the rate of suitable stars being formed in the galaxy.

f(p) is the fraction of stars which have planets going round them.

n(e) is the number of planets in each planetary system around a star that is suitable for life. They are in the habitable zone.

f(I) is the number of these planets that life actually is on. It is the number of these planets on which life arises.

f(i) is the fraction of these planets where intelligent life arises.

f(c) is the fraction of these planets on which technical civilisations capable of communicating appears.

f(L) is the fraction of the planetary lifetime during which the civilisation exists. They could have been on a planet and gone so they aren't there anymore. They need to be still there for us to be able to find them!

The above is the Drake equation which considers all the possible factors for us finding intelligent life somewhere in our galaxy.

i for sure think there is life, there is millions of asteroids carrying amino acids which life can build from, if 1 of them hit a planet with liveable conditions, BOOM u have life, and considering our solar sytem is so old compared to others there is a high chance of intelligent species...

Thats why when people say there is no such thing as aliens.. I give them a weird look. The universe is an insanely huge fucking place.

Current estimate of the number of particles existing in the universe:
Somewhere between 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000 (or 10^72) and 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000 (or 10^87).

Still, that does not mean that chances of random stuff existing are big in any way. On the contrary, they're almost infinitely small. (basic math: the number of theoretically possible combinations of particles is insanely big, while the number of practically possible combinations is far smaller)

Always look on the bright side of life!
