Adam was actually approached before Ron Jeremy to do Surreal Life, but turned them down. The producers felt it was a show with people near the end of their careers, looking for a second chance. Adam didn't think he felt he would belong in this cast, although he did admit to "Possibly" missing out on meeting what could have been his true soulmate in Tammy Faye.

Then the producers of Family Business approached him and he gladly accepted.

Shotime has until Aug 1, I believe he said, to pick up the option for a third season, which IS currently being filmed regardless of their decision.
