I have seen Lady Micheif on this board say "as long as they dont come up here where my kids are"

must be nice.

Like I had anything to do with this war, like I had anything to do with Sept 11th, like I even voted for Bush, like I as an American have had a say in ANY OF THIS.

asI said, it must be nice, to just sit there and laugh it off, while we dont even vote for this shit and get laughed at and attacked by the world.

Where will you be when the US is dead like it seems so many want?

Where will the world be then?

Hopefully youll all be able to handle it.

What is with you people?

Jeeze, get this through your heads.

We (as people, not just Canadians) don't want to see people dying. Least of all Americans. Why do we hate this war? because Americans are over there dying right now... because Americans are over there, going out of their mind and pulling really stupid stunts like the prison crap.

We don't want any of this crap happening. And incident by incident, we keep questioning.... WTF IS GOING ON?

It's all wrong.... one big huge wrong doing, and in so... there's a bunch of things happening wrong on a much smaller scale.

NO ONE EVER SAID that they wanted American gone... or to die, or to leave... or what ever you keep making up in your head.

No one is anti-american. Anti-Bush most probably... but we have no hatred for America. We just don't accept torture as something that should happen under any circumstance... them, you, us... anyone. Just because someone else did, gives the US military no right... there's no justification.

My belief of whether the military has a right to torture anyone has no bearing on whether I care about America.

Why the hell do you people keep thinking that we want America to go anywhere because we get upset at some of your actions? That's so very immature.

You know what, it is nice that we don't have to worry about being attacked. And no, I don't believe for a second that it's because the US is there to protect us. I DO believe that it's because no one has any reason, any cause or any grounds to attack us. We don't invade other countries, we don't impose our views or lifestyles on them.... so they don't hate us.

I never said you did, and I am appauled by the prison photos like any HUMAN should be.

So are we, there are war protests almost daily here in California, do they show those on your Canadian TV? They dont show it on our TV either, imagine that, but they are happeneing.

If you think America wants this you are mistaken. NO AMERICAN VOTED on this war. So we ask too WTF IS GOING ON?

I have family there, keep that in mind

I agree totally.

I was referring to terrorists and the militant Islams when I said "when the US is dead like they want" I wasnt referring to you or Canadian,s I wish you would have caught that.

I am more ANTI-BUSh than anyone on this board. I do not agree with sexual torture or rape, why do you even consider that Americans do? We dont. I never said it was right and no real american has, other than idiots on this board.

again, I WAS REFERRING TO THOSE WHO DO IN FACT WANT US GONE.

MILITANT ISLAM, TERORISTS etc.

please get that this time around.

and thats the arrogance that shows in many posts I see from Canadians who see to literally taunt that in our face, again I say AMERICANS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH TORTURe, bad soldiers and idiots did.

You are labeling us all because of some weekend warrirors.

You took my post wrong and wrote a book ;)

Sounds to me like you're talking to Canadians.

If you didn't mean it that way, you should have been more specific. Not once did you mention terrorists or muslims or anything in your post. How am I supposed to know what you're talking about? Read your mind?

no harm no foul either way, I wasn't specifically intending it for you, or at least, not just for you.

I've heard from far to many people that seem to think that Canadians hate America or something.

We don't.

its simple.

this ENTIRE POST IS ABOUT TERRORISM.

HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CANADIANS except seeing a Canadaqin giggle and say that "as long as it doesnt come up here"

you cant take my quote out of context and make it a Canadaian American argument, the post itself was about terrorists.

Anyway, I gotta run and get off this machine.

Since I have posted one too many times to this thread already let me just say this and be done with it.

Right now the United States and an alarming number of the American people are acting like a bunch of dumb ass wrestlers from the WWE. (or wwf or whatever it is called.)

This isn`t some tittle match for the belt and you aren`t Mr. Perfect who is going to warp and twist every fact in such away to preserv your supposed flawless record. Yes atrocities happen in a war but this has been taken to a new level.

My God, these are human beings we are talking about. People with children, families and loved ones. I don`t care what a man is guilty of doing, his four year old son doesn`t need to see him stripped naked, put on a dogleash and sodomized with a flash light.

So, you may have taught dad a lesson, but you severly fucked with an innocent child`s mind. And when that child grows up and decideds to hate and kill Americans. What will happen and what will you do?

Will you once again be shocked and almarmed when he kills thousands of Americans by crashing an aircraft into a building. Or God forbid he figures out how to construct a nuclear weapon on US soil.

And when it does happen will you then point another finger and scream "They started it!" Then call for more deaths of the "Rag Heads." Never once considering that you taught these people that life is worthless. And most of all to look upon you with fear as if you are some kind of monster.

In the end we are all the same and we all want the same things.

"To live our lives in the method of our choosing, Musim Christian or otherwise. To have a meal on our table and roof over our heads. Enjoy a measure of safety from violence and horror. And mostly to have have and watch our children grow and enjoy their children in our old age"

I`m not talking about a bunch of "pacifist hippie crap." What I`m doing is trying to protect my 2 year old daughter`s life. By attempting to stop the hate and doing everything possiable to prevent the creation of another generation of terrorists.

I don`t want to see her or anyone else`s child murdered in a bomb attack or loose their life fighthing in some future war that never needed to happen if the people of today just considered their actions.

You can hate and justify your actions or you can put the gun down. The choice is yours.

Pain in the ass

How the hell did this become a war between Canada and the US?
What does Canada's healthcare system have to do with anything?
Just because members of the canadian military made mistakes back in the early 90's does not make it right for americans to do the same. Im sure I could find stats showing war crimes the US committed in WWII, does that make it alright for canada to have done it in Somalia? No. Get your heads out of your asses.
Its not just CANADIANS that are calling the US out about their blatant disregard for their prisoners lives, its the entire world.
Canada just has a louder voice than most on this board because of the high member rate. Live with it.
If you dont like people knocking americans for doing stupid shit, then dont do the stupid shit. Simple enough concept.
Canada had to deal with the same thing during Somalia. And as you can see from that link officers in our military were punished for it. Also take note that out of the 100 or so incidents listed theres like 5-6 that have to do with murder or torture and more were aquitted. The majority of crimes there consist of the illegal or accidental discharge of a weapon. Accidents happen.
I cant wait to see that list with all the war crimes the US committed during this war. If you want to compare lists afterwards then be my guest.
90% of you are on here bitching about Bush and the decisions he makes while running your country, but then show up saying how superior your country is to everyone else in a later thread. Make up your mind.

"How the hell did this become a war between Canada and the US?...
...If you dont like people knocking americans for doing stupid shit, then dont do the stupid shit. Simple enough concept."

Gee, I wonder why.

"What does Canada's healthcare system have to do with anything?"

I don't know, but it was an amusing side bar.

"Just because members of the canadian military made mistakes back in the early 90's does not make it right for americans to do the same. Im sure I could find stats showing war crimes the US committed in WWII, does that make it alright for canada to have done it in Somalia? No. Get your heads out of your asses."

No one ever said it was right. I merely started this thread to give a FEW particular bashers a little history refresher. Funny that none of the people this was really directed to even participated.

"Its not just CANADIANS that are calling the US out about their blatant disregard for their prisoners lives, its the entire world. Canada just has a louder voice than most on this board because of the high member rate. Live with it."

A blatant disregard for life would mean the taking of it. They're still alive, therefore their lives were regarded. We ARE living with your rights to opinions, comments, etc. Certainly we are allowed our own. We're South of you, not beneath you.

"Canada had to deal with the same thing during Somalia. And as you can see from that link officers in our military were punished for it. Also take note that out of the 100 or so incidents listed theres like 5-6 that have to do with murder or torture and more were aquitted. hehehe that's a lot of accidents. Translation: "firing without order to do so but not hitting your target". I'm ok with it, war is war. You know as well as I do that the torture murder thing was MUCH bigger than that report is making it out to be. Yes officers were punished, and don't worry, people will be punished here as well. I just don't recall any Americans saying BOO CANADA when that all happened.

Unfortunately, as technology increases, so do information leaks and as time goes on the general public learns more quicker. That's the biggest difference in these scenarios and will only seem worse and worse in each next incident.

"I cant wait to see that list with all the war crimes the US committed during this war. If you want to compare lists afterwards then be my guest."

Oh so when "your guys" do it, it's just "THOSE GUYS", but when people from the US do it it's "THE US". I'm sensing some feelings of superiorty from the North again...

"90% of you are on here bitching about Bush and the decisions he makes while running your country, but then show up saying how superior your country is to everyone else in a later thread. Make up your mind."

I'm not bitching about Bush and I'll admit I've voted for both of them. Every President / leader makes mistakes and nearly always almost 50% of the people will not like what one does. That's a fact of life.

So go ahead and blame him for 911, the alleged WMD "scam" whatever else you want... the truth is that if Clinton hadn't cut so much funding out of the defense budget when he was getting his knob sucked by that fat skank in the cheap dress, we would have had enough operatives gathering intelligence over there that 911 probably wouldn't have happened.

I don't remember anyone saying we were more superior than anybody just that Canada wasn't either. And THAT was the point of this thread.

When placed in a bowl of shit, people will do shitty things.

Even if they are Canadian.

clearly.

lines like: "Its not just CANADIANS that are calling the US out about their blatant disregard for their prisoners lives, its the entire world."

Clearly Blames THE US for things some Soldiers did 20 miles outside of Baghdad.

THE US is FAR FROM Abu Gharaib and we are NOT TO BLAME, but as is illustrated in those lines above, its clear they lay the blame on ALL OF US when its us, but its overlooked when its someone else.

I havent seen anyone saying shit about the brits pissing all over prisoners.

not a word about it...

Say whatever you want. Those are examples of people in the military who can't handle the pressure and snapped. But in the case of Iraq, those are US military who where ordered by civilian contractors to commit those abuses which are widespread btw. Big difference.

Ah not to worry the shitstorm in Britain is gonna happen once those pics are proven to be real. The authorities challenged the press in Britain that those pics are fake but it seems like the truth is gonna come out soon. I'm sure we're gonna hear about it a lot in the coming weeks.

A blatant disregard for life would mean the taking of it. They're still alive, therefore their lives were regarded. We ARE living with your rights to opinions, comments, etc. Certainly we are allowed our own. We're South of you, not beneath you.
By blatant disregard for life I meant quality of life. However, if you think innocent lives arent being taken in Iraq then your mistaken. Its war, and lives ARE taken.

Quote:
"Canada had to deal with the same thing during Somalia. And as you can see from that link officers in our military were punished for it. Also take note that out of the 100 or so incidents listed theres like 5-6 that have to do with murder or torture and more were aquitted. The majority of crimes there consist of the illegal or accidental discharge of a weapon. Accidents happen."

hehehe that's a lot of accidents.
My intent isnt to say BOO USA now either. It just seems like most of the people in this thread are trying to defend the actions of the US soldiers because other people have also made similar mistakes. If thats the case then obviously their mindset is shared by those who ARENT at war aswell, right? Hence the US generalization.

Quote:
"I cant wait to see that list with all the war crimes the US committed during this war. If you want to compare lists afterwards then be my guest."

Oh so when "your guys" do it, it's just "THOSE GUYS", but when people from the US do it it's "THE US". I'm sensing some feelings of superiorty from the North again...
My statements honestly are not meant to portray any form of superiority. I've lived in BOTH countries and up until recently considered myself citizens of both countries. That only ended months ago.

Quote:
"90% of you are on here bitching about Bush and the decisions he makes while running your country, but then show up saying how superior your country is to everyone else in a later thread. Make up your mind."

I'm not bitching about Bush and I'll admit I've voted for both of them. Every President / leader makes mistakes and nearly always almost 50% of the people will not like what one does. That's a fact of life.
Absolutely. Obviously in a country as large as the US theres no way EVERYONE is going to agree on one leader or how the country should be run. Thats why the majority rules.

Quote:
So go ahead and blame him for 911, the alleged WMD "scam" whatever else you want... the truth is that if Clinton hadn't cut so much funding out of the defense budget when he was getting his knob sucked by that fat skank in the cheap dress, we would have had enough operatives gathering intelligence over there that 911 probably wouldn't have happened.

I don't remember anyone saying we were more superior than anybody just that Canada wasn't either. And THAT was the point of this thread.

When placed in a bowl of shit, people will do shitty things.

Even if they are Canadian. [/B]
I wasnt specifically referring to any one persons comments, just the general direction of the thread. Canadians do stupid shit too. It just seems like more US citizens are trying to defend the actions of their soldiers abroad as "just being war" and when Canada was in this situation years and years ago I seem to remember the country and its citizens being MORE apologetic. Thats not to say that there arent a huge number of americans that are ashamed and apologetic of their soldiers actions, its just how it looks to me. Especially when I read threads like this.

Your doing the same thing by assuming that my comments are supported by an entire country. Just because Im stating my opinion doesnt mean the entire country agrees with it. Just like your trying to say that just because your soldiers fucked up doesnt mean that everyone in the US supports that behaviour.

My last post explained it but I'll explain it again. Threads like this (IN MY OPINION) show that atleast some of the US citizens support or try to downplay the shit going on overseas. Im not pointing the finger of blame at the US as a whole....simply those that try to atleast somewhat defend this shit.

It should be pointed out that, in the wake of this incident, the entire Canadian Airbourne regiment that these individuals belonged to was disbanded. Outright.

That single incident was deemed to put a stain so indelible that the only way to go forward was to excise the cancer completely, due to the nature of the mindset developed in that unit... characterized by levels of bigotry that were distinctly un-Canadian.

THAT, to me, shows a great deal more responsibility and action than a couple minutes of on-air lip service and faux apologetics... and in so doing, reveals one of the basic differences in culture:

One sides seeks to learn, grow, and improve from mistakes, regardless of political fallout as a result of actions taken.

The other side (up to this point) seeks to bury, deny or trivialize the events in order to politically damage-control over an election period, tacitly reminding us that the appearance of good is more important than actually BEING good... in this context, at least.

I hope to be proven wrong, and be shown that people who matter give a flying fuck about honour still have enough power to exercise that honour in the appropriate way.... this whole "winning at all costs" election debauchery disgusts me.
