largest capacity portable firewire drives available?

i have a bunch of small portable 60 gig MCE fw drives that i use for traveling. does anything bigger (around 100 gigs or more) exist?

i'm talking about small, portable drives, not desktop fw drives. thanks

Nope, I don't think so Quiet. I was searching pretty hard a couple of weeks ago and when it comes to truly being portable 60 gigs is the limit.

That kangaru MattO posted looks nice but I can't really judge how large it is from the pics. Are the connectors there as a size comparison tool or just as a representation of what's included?

Quiet -- can't you just get whatever 3.5" HD FW enclosure you like and then slap a 320gig IDE in it?

That's what I did for a couple drives & a DVD-RW here...

The kangaru site says the drive is 8x4.5x1 but I don't know if I would trust a company I have never heard of selling a drive for less than half the cost and twice the storage when most known companys like lacie max out at 80gig and sell for around 400 bucks. From what I can find looks like 80 is the max right now.

tranferring large amounts of uncompressed dv from one place to another. also, my 80 gig G4 is close to full, and i like to carry a complete back up with me (as well as one at home of course) at all times.

They are nothing special, really just a metal box. I picked the iomega and iogear drives over those. The Iomega is very nice and quite fast.

not sure what you mean. i've got tons of desktop fw drives. i suppose they are sort of portable, but i love my mce 60 gig fw drives for travel. they are serioiusly tiny, but work very well.

i just want a 100 gig small ass drive to buy, preferably that runs off the firewire connection and does not require any external power...

what are you using amp?
