This is all very true.

This isn't so much, for the most part... we held them off. The US tried to take over Canada to have sole possession of the great lakes. Canada held them off for years until Britain was able to come in and burn down Washington as a form of proverbial bitch slap.

We didn't kick their asses, but we sure as hell made them think twice about whether or not they could kick ours :glugglug

1) either buy or open some cheap business here..

it's better to buy one thats currently up and running this is what the asians/Indos/ and others do..

2) marry someone here..

3) apply to a bible church camp attend it there and apply under canadain law this way get the minister or preist to help sponsor you.. this is one another way in..

And inherit your debt?!?! Are you kidding? We Canadians have had a balanced budget for about 6 years now.

Pay off at least some of your debt first, THEN send me a brochure, and I'll think about it.

American Republicans are more reckless spenders than Canadian liberals - what the fuck is up with that? The wheels have fallen off the American bus.

I saw another article online awhile back from Newyork paper that in one of the poor areas 'projects' that some families were catching bats
opening there hahahahahahas turning off there lights at night and snaring them and eating them! *Batburgers*no shit.. what the fuck is going on.. there more fucking poor people in the USA than in canada compared to popular density and ratios not to mention uneducated. shall I go on? yes a nice place to visit but not to live..

I have a Aunt that lives in Manhattan her rent is $2,500 amonth.
and her neighbors up stairs pay $3,500 because it's higher with more of a view of smog! and not to mention 8 locks on her door.

sorry I can't live in a enviroment or box as I call it ?

I did when I was in school I lived in a highrise but left after that.:2 cents:

RIGHT ON BRUTHA! FUCK BRETT HULL!!!

Great to see his ass booted out of the playoffs last night. Hopefully he'll play this summer at the World Cup so he can get his ass kicked again, but I suspect he'll pussy out.

BTW don't move to the states. Sooner or later they'll find a way to draft you.

Hmmmm let me consider this for a moment.

I can be a fat, lazy, cheeseburger eating, hich school drop out, racist red neck that requires an American flag be placed every few hunderd feet because I might forget what country I live in with an arrogance to believe that there are only two types of people in this world, those that are American and those that wish they were and have nothing better to do except swill bad beer, smoke imported Canadian pot and bitch about my rights to own assult weapons while being an annoying over paid loud mouth.

Or....

I can be an intelligent, fit, university graduate that doesn`t require the use of a firearm to "protect" herself from some fucked up crack dealing pimp at a gas station.

Yea I really want to be an American... NOT!!!

Pain in the ass.

PS. When travelling the way you can tell an American from a Canadian is the American proudly displays the Canadian flag and the Canadian waves a Tim Hortons mug.

I love canada!

Its a SAFE country. Seriously, during the summer, I jog at night in my area, in Montreal. You can express what you think, there is not a lot of extreme people to harass you because of your opinion. Canada tend to be a bit too neutral sometimes though. We need good politicians...

Its not that I dont like the states, but I must say its different from canada. I dont like the " Im proud of being an americain" all the time, its just stupid. I never see the canadian flag on people's home or car...

I saw "bowling for columbine" and that makes my point.

I am REALLY happy to be in canada, and when my bf ( a russian) talked about maybe moving to the states to make some cash and come back in canada after, I was really perturbated...no way! I dont want to be americain, all the other countries dont like USA...and too much guns and world domination, and capitalism.

FlyingIguana 05-04-2004 04:12 PM

well i want to work on wall street. being an american citizen doesn't really matter, well maybe for tax purposes it would. but that would pretty much be the only reason.

Roger 05-04-2004 04:27 PM

what for? We got the best of both worlds, except for the weather of course :)

We enjoy everything that people in the US enjoy and even more. We don't have as many people as in the US, we're only 30 million so we tend to be more relaxed. I like to visit New York but I wouldn't live there.

My god.. Here we go AGAIN!
All that fucking talk about US vs CANADA and CANADA vs QUEBEC ... don't you guys get tired of this, ever? Who gives a crap? If you don't like where you live, CHANGE! MOVE! GET A LIFE!

All that hater talk is so annoying! I am in Quebec, I lived part of my life in BC... when I don't like something I change it but I won't shit talk everybody and hate everyone who just want to say something. The guy only said he liked it here! Get a life!

You Friggin Vaginal blood fart!!!
What the fuck??? Are you the bastard love child of Belinda Stronach and Steven Harper???

For your informatino I`m a Quebecois and a Federalist!!! And where do you get off saying we aren`t Canadian. Yea I know we have problems with the Bloc. But did you ever stop and think there might be a reason for it. Goddam try living in a French society surrounded by the English. And don`t foget we were here first.

The Bloc will never obtain their seperation. That is a fact that has been proven over and over again. Most of Quebec doesn`t even like them but we sure as hell like to keep them around because to insure that our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other generations will continue to be French.

You would do well to remember that we are the other half that help create this great nation. We have as much claim to it as you do and as much claim to a proud history as any anglophone. Next time try walking a mile in another person`s shoes before you make a dumbass arogant statement.

Perhaps you need to put the damn pipe down and sober up.

Pain in the ass

Uhhh, because "Canada" was a British Colony at the time. To attack Canada in 1812 you had to declare war on Britain.

Misty, hon, I love ya, and I think you're beautiful, and talented, and smart. But this:

...actually kind of disproves your point. "Bowling for Columbine" was a (granted, ill-conceived) satire that attempted to point out that the rampant "violence" in America is largely, well, mythical. Yes, there is violence - lots of it; more than there should be, but it's NOTHING like what the media portrays.

You mention jogging at night in Vancouver. I walk at night in Scottsdale. SOUTH Scottsdale. Talk to the folks in elitist, heady NORTH Scottsdale, and they'll tell you I'm crazy. They'll tell you I live in a ghetto, riddled with homeless Mexican illegals who are hooked on meth and can't wait to crawl out of the sewers and sever my head in hopes of finding a gold chain they can pawn for drug money.

Actually, I live in a fairly non-descript middle-class neighborhood. My neighbors range in age from 20-something to 60-something. They are of many races and backgrounds. Some have children, some are single. It's a typical, American neighborhood. Last time the cops came around it was because somebody saw somebody who looked like they might be up to something. No, nothing ever came of it.

Have to agree with you on this one, if only because the people who tend to bellow the whole "Proud to be an American" stuff generally have no idea why they're proud. Maybe it's because they actually know what country they're from, and that makes them feel real smart and stuff. (For those of you who are proud to be American, and are not ignorant rednecks: This does not apply to you.)

As for the flag thing...Well, that's a whole 'nother thread.

I have never been to Canada, but I am looking forward to visiting. I consider Canadians to be my cousins. Which is a little bit twisted, because my ex-husband's parents are Canadian, so does that make my feelings for Canadians somehow, twistedly incestuous? It's just terribly confusing. My ex mom, dad and sis-in-law were born in Ontario. Ex hubby and bro were born in Ohio. I guess it's a miracle that family stayed together at all...

And this is where it all breaks down for me...Canadians vs. Americans is about as sensible as Oklahomans vs. Texans. Yeah, Texas has better tax laws, better freeways and a better parks department. BFD. Texans are still bigger assholes than Okies, and every Texan AND Oklahoman knows that. We lived in peace (more or less).

There's a whole, what, ten-foot border between us? Face it, Canucks, we're the same. More or less. Get over the superiority complex.
