Phone Billing, who is offering it and what are your terms?

Phone Billing, who is offering it and what are your terms? Post your terms in this thread and we'll all see who has the best product.

So get this, we called I-Bill and the sales person says that they must not offer web900 anymore because they can't find it on their website.

Hi Rick... You don't need a phone billing option if you integrate 123Bill instead! Give us a look see, I'd very much appreciate the opportunity to bid on your business.

Unfortunately it appears that the 900 market just keeps getting worse and worse. ATN is just the latest to screw it's providers, I can't see where the upside is in that market. I've heard good things about one 900 company from a reputable source, if you'd like their info feel free to call, email or ICQ me.

Cheers,

Brad

I'd trust 900 billing to CCBill any day of the week, can't get higher than that on the credibility scale.

To be clear, I'm looking for a service that takes a credit card over the phone and then issues a PIN number that can be entered.

I've had a No Credit Card link on my page that just said "Click here to pay be phone" and NCC just hijacks the browser and pops a download. Once the user figures out that it isn't for Credit Card billing over the telephone they can't even get back to my site. FUCK THAT.

If you offer the service, what are your fees? What do you reserve and for how long? Are their setup fees, if so how much?

My process is different but accomplishes the same end goal, allowing US residents to purchase online and receive instant access without the use of a credit card or check. Inherent to the process is real-time age verification. We take all collections risk so merchants get a guaranteed payout regardless of our ability to collect. I don't want to hijack your thread on 900 billing, so let me know if you'd like more information.

Cheers,

Brad

I just found out that CC Bill and I Bill are both working on 800 recurring billing solutions but neither of them have one now.

I've created this list of questions. Let's get it answered for each company. Anyone that doesn't answer isn't proud of their product.

Is it an 800 number or a 900 number?
What are the fees?
Can you do recurriing billing?
What do you reserve?
What is your setup procedures? Is there a setup cost?
What are your support policies and procedures.
When do you pay us? 14 days after you collect? 90 days?

Since I've not been addressed directly, I'll just presume to answer your questions with regard to my product.

1) Neither, it's a join page online so the customer never has to pick up the phone.
2) 35% on gross, period. No reserves, not subject to collections or chargebacks.
3) Yes, recurring billing in addition to free and low cost trials.
4) No reserves.
5) Our programmer works with your staff to accomplish integration, taking as much of the burden onto us as possible. No cost for established merchants.
6) Consumer and merchant support provided primarily during business hours, M-F. Emergency merchant support is 24-7-365.
7) 6 weeks from the date of sale. Large merchants we will ACH daily thereafter, everyone else once weekly.

Right online, it's not a dialer. Basically, I'm the bank and issuing an instant virtual credit account to the consumer after I verify their identity. We have a one page secure join form, you never lose control of the traffic. It's the perfect solution, it's new and I'd like the opportunity to tell you more about it. (and it's a good value to the consumer, very easy to understand!)

Hey there Rick. You may also want to look at Duocash as an addiltional way to process transactions along with your credit card processor.

We enable pre-paid phone cards to be used, which means that we have nothing to do with VISA/MC and we are NOT subject to the credit card association regulations.

We are not looking to be a replacement for credit cards, but rather an anonymous, additional method to get customers who might otherwise not want, or be able, to give CC# to adult sites.
Our system also works very well for micropayments as there is no per transaction fee of 15 to 50 cents like CC transactions.

Perhaps you may want to take a look at Duocash

http://www.duocash.com/merchants.jsp

We are not in the business of selling phone cards. The problem with earlier business models has been distribution of proprietary cards. The retailers won?t stock the cards if the customers aren?t asking for them. The consumers aren?t aware of the cards if they aren?t on retailers shelves. It?s a chicken and egg type of issue.

In our case, we have done something different. We are taking a product that is ALREADY on the shelves, in distribution online, and in call centers. We are enabling the existing phone cards that are already on the market and being distributed, to be used by consumers to purchase digital content on the internet. This also avoids the issue of a single-use card that won?t be carried by retailers and distributors because of perception problems associated with a card that is specific to adult, gaming, etc?

We are putting together some VERY large deals that will be implemented in the next 60 days or so that will put Duocash enabled phone cards all over the US and Canada, and we are in discussions to expand to Australia and the EU.

You can contact me on my mobile or my email at any time for any questions you might have

I've got the same product that Intertrans does, same back end. It is recurring 900 billing. One price point which is 24.99, no trial, and the fees to use it are 30%, since each of the phone companies involved gets their piece, just like any other phone billing. Setup is pretty simple, it involves a signed contract and some information regarding post back urls and other programming things for your system and it doesn't take more than a couple of days on our side to do. Your initial check comes a minimum of 60 days after we start your billing, then you are paid the third week of the month in perpetuity from there on out.

There are VERY few chargebacks or credits involved, the subscriber to your site's name has to match the name on the phone bill and there is an additional id/age verification process as well that the phone companies like very much, thus the reason for the low credits.

Other questions, let me know, I'll be out for a couple hours and then back for a bit before Aly's get-together tonight --

To me when you consider How long it takes to get paid, how easy it is for them to kick back the charge, and the amount the companies that handle it for you charge, it doesnt pay to offer it.

900 certainly isn't a magic bullet, I don't think any solution is. However, from a business standpoint you can't argue with added revenue through monitizing on sales that would have never otherwise occurred. The key in all business models is just to price accordingly to secure your margin, your affiliate's margin.

All I really want is for someone to take their credit card over the phone. Both CC Bill and I Bill are telling me that they are coming out with this feature.

Does anyone offer it yet?

It seems to me that there should be a link to "pay by phone" and that page should link to a page that says, would you like to put this charge on your phone bill or would you like to call and use your credit card?

Calling up and using your credit card over the phone to buy an internet subscription would be a tremendously more risky scenario than what you already have in 5967 transactions, imo.

If it were my merchant account, I'd never consider doing it. Someone wanting to use a cc needs to use the web form to do it so they can be properly fraud screened, otherwise they fall into the card not present category, and that makes the transaction costs even higher without removing any of the risk involved with the purchase to the merchant.

Rick,

Intertrans offers a recurring Telephone Billing System. Below you will find some information:

Recurring Telephone Billing:

Bills at only one rate: $24.95

Pays in 105 days.

Cost 30%, you get paid 70%

Chargeback's or as they are called in relationship to this product un-billable and refunds constitute no more than 15% of the total.

Also another interesting fact first time recurring is about 80% and the customer generally stays about 3 or 4 months. The average sign-up is worth $75.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
