What Motorcycle Should I Get?

My insurance for the 2004 Yamaha R6 I have on order is fucking crazy!!! $3500-5000 a year for plain insurance!!! So anyways screw the sport bike route. I am going to go back to the dealership and order something else, preferably a crusier or touring bike.

Can anybody suggest a sweet ass ride to replace it?

Thanks
DH

Orange County Choppers man. If you want a custom one you're going to have to wait awhile though, espescially if you even want to talk to someone high on the food chain about ideas.

Put it this way. If you start from the west coast and ride to the east coast on a Harley, then get on a rice grinder and ride from the east to the west, I can guarantee you will have more fun on the Harley.

Full coverage on a custom bike will be a lot more than it would be on the Yamaha, of that you can be sure.

True, but for some reason it seems worth it. To me it's like this, paying $5000 to insure a Chevette isn't the same as paying $5000 to insure a Rolls Royce.

my point is, if he can't afford the insurance on a yamaha, he won't be able to afford it on an OCC custom bike

True, he never said he couldn't afford it though, he just said that what he was paying was too high for a regular sport bike. Regardless though, there is way cooler shit to be had for that price or less than a stock sport bike.

I got my 2000 R6 when I was 20 and the insurance is about $400 for a year of full coverage. So maybe stick with the R6 and find a new insurance company.

wtf, why's the insurance so high? i had no idea it would be so expensive. my old buddy from highschool had a gsxr 750 back in the early 90's, and while i don't remember the actual figure, i remember thinking the insurance was really cheap.

that seems way too high... damn.

Yeah it's crazy dude, the price of insurance for me 2 years ago as a new rider was only $800 a year!!

I can't believe how much the insurance companies want for sport bike insurance nowadays. Absolutely crazy!!

From what I have heard there is a 10% drop in riders this year because of the crazy rates. No one can afford to ride anymore!!!
