Motorcycle Insurance is a Fucking RIPOFF!

Holy shit my bike 2 years ago was only $800 a year.

Just got a quote for my new bike and it's $2800 a year! I called around for better quotes and no one is writing new policies and no one wants to insure motorcycles anymore.

What a fucking ripoff!

We've got 2 bikes and I just had to shell out for the yearly premium last week. Mine only jumped $200 this year. Sucks because we don't get to put them to use year-round.

DrinkingHard, call 1-800-211-SAVE or go to http://www.21st.com/ to see if they can hook you up with a better rate.
I had motorcycle insurance through them last year and it was less than half the price as anywhere else.

DH,

Who are you going through?

I pay less then 300.00 per year for full coverage on my 30k HD Fat Boy.

I think the company is called American Modern. You can also call HD Insurance and they can recommend some.

thanks

Todd

i have 2 bikes and my rates are only like $480 per year. obviously it depends on the bike, where you live, age, driving history, etc.

I'd love to call up these companies but I doubt they will insure a motorcycle in Canada.

just make sure they don't find out that you'll be riding around in a dress, they'll probably try to charge you even more

I would only pay a premium like that on a bike worth $30k or more

Crotch rockets are cheap and that is easily more than 25% of a new jap bike's worth.. per year

Guess it depends on what you ride

I was paying $65 per month for full coverage on a Victory Vegas, which was $18k out the door... and I still thought that was pretty high

As long as you dont have full coverage you'll be fine. The insurance companies are tired of paying settlements out for kids that park their bike under a car after owning it for a week.
Dont get collision. Get fire, vandalism, theft, and liability and you should be good to go.
