I'd be more likely to help a "known" person than someone I'd never heard of and it would depends upon the violation: what the charge was based on

i feel the same way.

i couldn't care less if the site was protected by the constitution. if i don't feel comfortable with the site or it's owners or the concept, i wouldn't donate money or help or even show sympathy.

Theres a difference between "support" and financial support, for instance I "support" the Klu Klux Klan's right to freedom of speech and would condemn any move to curtail this or anything considered "hate speech", but would I send a bunch of christian red necks my hard earned dough? hell no.

So you are happy to allow local community standards to define what is obscene and what isn't? (as that is the legal definition of obscenity). If not how do you think whether something is obscene or not should be defined? Are you happy for Bush to do it?

I would more than likely contribute, depending on who it was and what they got nailed for. Certain things are too far in my humble opinion, but still, they may need to back to keep the line farther in the reasonable zone.

I would probably contribute anonymously, or known only to the recipient. Certain things warrant PR, others require class.

Those who said "depends on the obsenity" Keep in mind what the justice department has hinted to the fact that once the over 50 obsenity cases are released, they will target the most broad definition of "hardcore"... meaning that even a simple interracial scene could be targetted.
