OMG.... yes, I'm venting. I think a first for me on this board.....

I signed another model to my network a few weeks ago and have been waiting for her to come shoot images for design. I bought the domain name, picked out fonts and colors, etc. etc.

She cancelled the first date because she said she opened a car door and banged herself in the eye

and was bruised

Been waiting for her to reschedule....debuted 2 other sites in the meantime, and now I get this email.......(AND WHY CAN'T PEOPLE USE PROPER GRAMMER AND PUNCTUATION????)


"Dear Ivy
This is the letter my attorny wrote me, I am just sending you the whole thing, I think I should just cancel this contract , I hope to contact you at a later time, maybe in a year or so. I need to figure out more of what I want to do. I also do not like the XX% payout and you own content and can just say how much to pay you if I would like content at a later date, I noticed you also use the pics as content in your site for members, It just seems you are getting a great deal of benefit from the girl.I will probably never need to buy the content since I just wanted a site up.

However I think XX% is steep.esp since it will be my clients and etc that will join and my body, so marketing not needed as much as other sites,I would rather pay a much higher amount for design and the percentage for updates and etc that you will do.
Kepp the $XXX for the inconvenience, e-mails ,time etc, I just should wait till I have a better idea of what is out there and what is the usual payouts and what I would like to do exactly, As of now all your stuff aside, I am just not sure at this point.

Every chick seems to think that their donation of a few hours of their lifetime for photos, is worth 95% of the revenue generated.

We've been lucky to find a couple of people that understand it though, and they're keepers

I hear ya...I've been very fortunate as well, all of my sites do awesome and they realize it's an equal partnership..never any trust issues or any of that. We're all in it for the same reasons......

Actually I do have an early withdrawl fee written in to my contract, but since she paid for the design already and I hadn't really done too much yet, I'm just gonna let her go. Let her go, cut her loose, fuggetaboutit. Better to either just pay a model per shoot and leave her out of any website dealings all together, or buy content from a content company and build a site around the girl that way, and just invent a name for her.

A girl like this isn't worth working with at all. Once someone shows attitude, greed, negativity... they are a waste of time. A dead end. If she comes back in a month and you work with her you will likely come to regret it. Attitude is everything in the world of working with models.

Too bad about all that wasted work and graphics etc though.

Ivy i feel your pain.

I stopped building sites for solo models 3 years ago for the very reason you outline in your post, as well as dealing with boyfriends who think they are managers giving advice about a subject they know nothing about. I have been at this game for 25+ years and it doesn't get any easier.

I try to shoot at least 20 models each month and to do this i need to book at least 30 sometimes 40 just to get 20 to turn up. I am so tired of no shows in California that i now shoot 2 weeks each month in Europe and Argentina. Flakes and no shows are less than 1% there.

I notice that here in San Diego models i book through reputable agency's almost always arrive on time and ready to go. Models booked through the web are perhaps the worst at showing up or being ready to work.
