Where is the Cheapest Place to Buy Domain Names?

I use Register.com and have been for a while. I just learned from a friend of mine that there are cheaper alternatives but can't seem to find them anywhere on the net.

Any suggestions?

I heard some bad stuff about GoDaddy, but namecheap has been really good so far ... I have around 100 domains listed with them..

1and1.com for $5.99 domains.

I reged about 40 domains with them in the past week. The company is top notch and very service oriented. They also have server offerings that compete with Rackshack and Severmatrix on price.

I also have domains with Namecheap, Verio and GoDaddy so for me to be impressed with a new company is rare.

No problem. I've had no problems with them myself but know many who have..

If you have a lot of domains you could get an enom $6.95 account, from what I've heard they're rock solid.

I wouldn't use Namecheap for the following reasons..

They're not ICANN accredited, they're just a reseller of eNom

They seem to sell emails, damn I'm getting shitloads of similar spam from all my namecheap domains

Well, post some more of your content man.. Loved that stuff you posted a few weeks ago
