After you got the idea the little guy really wanted to fight you, you should've just beat his ass. Once someone is spoiling for a fight with you and gives the impression that he's not gonna give up you might as well do it and teach him a lesson. I mean, what's the worst that could happen; he could come back with a huge guy to beat you up. At least the little one would have regretted it.
