You have to have a Commerce ePpurchase account to allow the use of an automated script to record sales. We use it over at http://www.imageauction.com

If you need something like this scripted for your site let me know and I'll be happy to quote you a price to develop it.

They have a shopping cart but the design is aweful. The
username and password are not on the same page like every
single system. This means if a surfer enters a username that
already exists they are sent through to the confirm page. Where
they then enter the wrong password and are never given a
chance to signup for an account. The only link to signup for an
account is a tiny "click here" on the first page.

They need to put the username and password on the same page
and put big signup links all over the thing.

They know this. They've been told plenty of times.

They choose to ignore it and would rather have you make less
sales due to the unusable design.

Come on KimmyKim.... Come in and say "I don't know why you
guys bash us" blah blah blah.....

I stand corrected....

After 6 months of trying to get them to change it they actually have.

I'm too busy sitting here with baited breath waiting on you to say my tech guys have their heads up their asses again.

Or perhaps I'm waiting to see ebenporte.com start pushing money through the system.

I, nor anyone else in the company, said we were perferct. But since we work quite well for hundreds of thousands of users every single day, I guess we aren't that bad.

Ozman84, drop me an email with exactly what you'd like to do and let me see if I can help. I'm about as technical as a toaster oven, but I do know who to ask.

Kimmy, I've been over it with your programmers and head of the
development team months ago. They told me at that time they
could see the problem and would get onto fixing it. I don't check
your site everyday because I gave up on you after waiting 6
months for this very simple and needed change to be done.

Great that you've finally done it.

Crap that it took 6 months.

As for you waiting with baited breath, u may be waiting a while
as I've lost all faith in epassporte after waiting so long for a
simple change and won't be switching the sites over anytime
soon.

I don't know why you find this funny..... small things I guess...

I checked the page every single day twice a day for 2 months.

After that I think you can forgive me for giving up and thinking it
would never be fixed.

I do find it humorous since it was mentioned the last time you were on a rant about us, if the search was working I'd pull it up...

There are people that gripe about certain things every time they are mentioned. You do it, I do it, Jive does it... ok Jive gripes about everything every time it's mentioned, that's a bad example...

At the end of the day, we're not for everyone, no matter how much I'd love to say we are. Those that our system works for, it works very well for, and those that it doesn't, we try to accomodate but at the end of the day, we're going to run the business in the way that makes the most sense and helps the majority of our clients.

You won't find anything in that thread to make me look bad. I just
said they had their heads up their asses because they were not
doing anything about how bad the useability was. It wasn't really
funny. It was a needed change I have invested a good amount of
time trying to get through. If that makes you laugh then?.. I just
don?t know?. Can?t understand what would be funny about it?.

I really don't know why you are trying to win points over me. I
just brought to your attention a serious fault in the system. It
appears that after last time someone took notice. If your aim is to
try to make anyone with suggestions out to be an idiot then I
don't think that will work with me.

I simply informed epassporte of problems with their system,
problems that affected a lot of users coming to your system for
the first time. You probably don't hear too much from the users
because they'd just backout and buy elsewhere. I was good
enough to bring it to your attention and keep bringing it to your
attention. If you want to laugh at me and try to make me look like
a fool for this then I feel sorry for you.

btw here is another suggestion, I've said it before and I'm sure
you're aware how important it is. I'm also sure you can take this
suggestion on-board without the stupid comebacks.

Make the join links more prominent. Rather than a tiny "click
here" link, make some images, add multiple links, put the links up
when a wrong password is entered, make it overly easy to find
the registration page.

btw the reason I griped about it everytime was because nothing
was being done to fix it. Even after talking to the programmers
and their boss. So I decided to keep it the foreground where it could be seen.

You won't see me gripe about it again now that it's fixed.

I don't know what you think I am....

I think you've taken me the wrong way somewhere along the line
as you're being very defensive about something that was quite
simple.

I'm not being defensive, Lord knows that same search will show that I don't bother. I am sarcastic, caustic, arrogant and generally right however. ;)

And the funny thing about the last thread is the day it started the programming in question got changed. But you complained about it again a month later, so I was amused by the fact that you didn't bother to check before you complained again. That makes me laugh, you perhaps not so much.

And if the search hadn't been disabled again for a couple days, it wouldn't have taken me this long to reply to your allegations.

Um, my boyfriend just said we could add brash, overbearing and a pain in the ass to my list.

He did agree that I was generally right however ;-}}}}
