I don't find requests for pictures insulting or offensive. It's when replies start to get angry, like "shut up and just post pics" that it gets to be insulting. I do like to think I can hold my own, but it's reassuring to know that Lens is there for me to cry on his shoulder if things get too hot in the kitchen for me.

Not me. I both deserve *and* need to be treated like a princess, or I completely crumble.

As a matter of fact, I believe the rule should be amended to not only include hassling, but arguing or disagreeing with females, in any form or fashion. Whatever the girls say should be considered to be right and any argument or opinion we make should automatically be the correct one.

That's the only real way I can see this board ever being fair or thriving. :2 cents:

You have a good point, and I see what you mean, but I don't think it is meant to have that type of effect. The women who have taken care of themselves on this board will continue to do so, without crying to Lensman at every comment (I know this doesn't change how I will post). However, it should protect the new girls that are here for Miss GFY, or are not used to this type of board interaction, and were getting attacked just for being a new female or "not enough of a webmistress". I'm not saying they should get their asses kissed, and if a girl starts shit, she better be able to finish it herself. However, no one should get bashed just for walking in the door. If we scare them all away now, the amount of women posters does not grow. If they all get to post like everyone else, then the board topics and overall vibe will weed out most of the girls who may not fit, and we end up with a few new businesswomen posters. :2 cents: :)

I must say I agree with graphicsbytia on this one. If the woman can't "handle" GFY, then she certainly should BE Miss GFY. While I do agree that some of these guys are really rude assholes, it IS a messageboard.

This is a contest, there is a lot riding on it for everyone, so no one needs to hear your ignorant dumbass comments or opinion. If you have to slam someone at least have some tact about it. If you don't know what tact is look it up in the dictionary. If you don't know what a dictionary is then go to your parents and slap them both for not using birth control.

And I've been an advocate of general board tactfulness since day one. I can piss with anyone and I do tend to give what I get..... and have no problem with a good pissing match.... but this is a contest, for the ladies. I think in this case a little warning about having some tact is in order, because some of the out of control grown up children here need to hear it. I'm sure some of them won't be able to resist their own big mouths and they will end up getting banned.

I agree that if you can't handle the banter, and the rudeness of some members without sobbing to the mods you shouldn't be in the contest. Its kinda lame to even hear someone is bitching.

The only time I would say it was ok to bitch would be if you really feel threatened by them, like they know where you sleep and stalk you in the night.

ok, the contest being a separate issue.. I totally agree with you on that. But I have to wonder what happens to these people when the contest is over and they stop getting special treatment.. assuming they stay as regular posters.. do things go back to normal..

This rule might not be so funny if GFY wasn't a board where racism, gay bashing, jew hating, and just about everything else has been allowed in the past.

Why are women assumed to not be able to take care of themselves so a man has to protect them, but almost every other group can be attacked without fear?
