IE 6 = No c o o k i e s = No sales for refferers
This has probably been discussed but search fonction doesn't work.
By default, IE 6 doesn't allow to set c o o k i e s. How will referrers get they % of sales ? How many sales a day will refferers loose ? Has CCBill or any other billing company found a way to credit sales to affiliates without involving c o o k i e s ? BTW: Replacing some words by "hahahaha" is totally idiot. I wonder if it makes anyone smile. |

umm topbucks says they
We also utilize a dual tracking methods which tracks both hahahahahaha and non-hahahahahaha surfers. With the increasing amount of surfers navigating the web with hahahahahahas turned off, it is important to know as a webmasters that the surfers you refer are being accounted for. TopBucks tracking system does account for these non-hahahahahaha surfers, but still provides the webmaster the benefits of hahahahahaha tracking such as credit for return visits. isnt the refid= suppost to count referrals |

If they do so, that is fine... What what about CCBill ? I never read anything regarding this on their site. Mr Fiction: I am 100% sure. Calvinguy: This interresting... Where did you get this information ? And... If I set a c o o k i e via CCBill link... isn't this a third party c o o k i e ? |

CHMOD - you are wrong. IE6 DOES NOT disable all c ookies by default and a well written script will still have it's c ookies accepted by the default IE settings. |

I've always hated tracking sales by hahahahahahas... so many people have them disabled.

There was a thread on here where someone brought the hahahahahaha issue to CCBill's attention. They responded and added another method for tracking sales. I don't remember exactly when it was, but I think it was sometime after they upgraded their stats system to the current one. Maybe someone can find the thread.

All I know is that ccbill ratios suck and I will not use any more sponsors using ccbill.

we run dual system too -
1. using hahahahahahas 2. using Ip tracking for some hours that helps to loose just less 5% of affiliates sales . What I think is almost no loose. |

I'm sure ccbill log the IP and affiliate ID at the "refer.ccbill" stage, and also the IP of a successful transaction. It would be quite simple to scan this data and match up affiliate referrals to sales. The problem is that program webmasters have already been paid for these sales... |

IP tracking is ok for basic click stats but not much more.
Gotta think about the proxies guys, IP tracking will not work. For starters think about AOL. You referer 50,000 AOL customers from a handful of IPs and if someone else happened to send a visit before you they'll get credit for the sale even if they only sent 3 hits. In the past programs using IPs have just pocketed the AOL traffic without giving full credits for it. Session IDs *are* c-ookies, unless you're talking URL based sessions, in which case these also won't work in a 3rd Party billing situation. Doesn't have to be "well coded" for c-ookies to work. They just work. It's simple. IE6 has c-ookies. It just won't accept img or i- frame hahahahahahas by default. No biggy. Relax. If you want to get all up tight about this then stop using paranoia and fake hack screens to promote evidence eliminators that delete hahahahahahas when the computer reboots. -Ben
