There is no possibility of this.

The Palestinians will only settle for the total elimination of Isreal, all Jews expelled and a country of Palestine with Jerusalem as the capital. What part of that do you think the Israelis are OK with? The Palestinians don't want SOME, they want ALL, especially Jerasulem and it is not negotiable.

Is that so? Where did you get that info from?
Sharon wants the exact opposite and he doesn't hide it, yet you don't seem to have a problem with it.

Rubbish and propoganda. Most Palestinians are sick to death of the killing, war and persecution. They would settle for living in harmony with the Jews with a guaranty of their land remaining with them. Don't forget they were the ones it was stolen from. Only fools think it was all bought.

It's the Jews that are kicking out the Palestinians at the moment. In two generations victims turning into oppressors.

The problem with those people is that they support Israel for all the wrong causes. They believe in the second coming of the Messiah and crap like that. Sad.

This policy of Israel is sheer genius. Killing the leaders will most probably make the Paelstinians more placid. It will also 'cut off the head of the snake'- once the two leaders are gone, there will be much fewer attacks. If they can kill 20 leaders, then all the attacks will stop altogether.

Similarly, the US really needs to kill osama asap. As soon as he is killed, all the terrorist cells around the world will give up and realise that america is actually their friend and a nice country.

It is best to use the war metaphor when talking about terrorism. At the end of the war on terror, victory is achieved when the opposing leader signs a peace treaty. At this point all of the terrorists under his control lay down their arms and stop fighting.
---
Does this all sound stupid? Like the ideas of a 7 year old? Well that is the way the administration in the US and Israel think.

US does not call the assassination's of leaders "Assassinations" they are better referred to as "Decapitation Strikes".

Let us not forget the "Shock and Awe" label of massive assault for what it is either.

I'm shocked and awed at the fact that it looks like we are actually getting our asses kicked now. Sure, more Iraqis are dying but they have control of more ground. There is no ground that we hold that they cannot attack either.

osama is a good symbolic target but I think if we killed him his followers would still continue it is going to take a world wide effort to put a big dent in terrorism

Your thought is profound. However..
Car accidents will always be. So maybe its pointless to fight those?
Wood fires will always be. So maybe its pointless to fight those?
Rape and crime will always be. So maybe its pointless to fight those?
Hatered will always be. So maybe its pointless to fight those?

shall I go on?

reynold 04-21-2004 07:46 PM

Targeted killings? Aren't you just doing what the terrorists do? How will that stop things? It'll just bring killings after killings after killings and so forth.... Now where's the end to that?

The only reason the war is not over is because the United States does not want to "bruise" arabs feelings.
Do not kid yourself, if the US soldiers had the green light, this whole thing would already be over with.
After all, it's ok for arabs to slaughter civilians, but it's wrong for the US to kill civilians while targeting enemy fighters....

dav555add 04-21-2004 08:33 PM

Terrorist organizations are like dictatorship, they are run from the top.
Kill the leader and you disorganize the organization, sure they can still attack, but they will have to regroup and re-organize.
Kill the leader over and over again, and they will spend more time protecting the leader rather than planning more attacks.

Sure, it won't solve the problem itself, but it will help reduce it.

When you are dealing with reasonable people you can always negotiate, but people who are willing to send their "mentally challenged" children to blow themselves, there is no negotiation possible.

As far as palestinians having a claim to that land, well, it's just not right.
Palestine was invented in the year 150 by the Romans who wanted to punish the Jews for revolting against them, they chased all the Jews that were not killed and renamed the country filistine.
Israel has been a Jewish country for over 3500 years.

But I know whatever I hahahahaha will not change the opinion of a few of the fucktard in there who do not understand that:
1/ THE USA OWNS THE WORLD AND YOUR ASS
2/ ISRAEL HAS ENOUGH NUKES TO ANIHILATE THE PLANET.
3/ THERE MIGHT BE ANOTHER HOLOCAUST, BUT THIS TIME IT WILL BE THE LAST EVENT IN HUMAN HISTORY
4/ FUCK YOU AND GO TO HELL TO ALL JEW AND AMERICA HATER :321GFY

uh huh. Nice caps.

I thought terrorist groups worked in cells, eg; they are left to pretty well figure it out for themselves having been given some very general guidance and assistance. The leader /dictator we see heading these groups .. speaking on TV etc is really just the voice of the group to the world and is expressing the interests of the group, not dictating it.. as i see.

It's definatley unlike any conventional military stucture. I doubt they would worry about protecting a public leader, they may just go 'underground' to avoid that problem.

There were about 2.5 millions native Americans, and they were overpowered in their own country, but so did the maya, the aztec, the incas, the hugunotes and many more all over the world. Sure, they still have a claim to their lands, but we live in a world where the strong survive.

When the Hebrews came out of Egypt, they went back to a land hardly populated and where there was no such thing as a palestinians as we know them today.

Little known fact, in 1948, it is Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon who told the 600,000 or so arabs living in Israel to get out so that they could "bomb the Jews" out of there. Those arabs who stayed in Israel, gained citizenship and have the highest per capita income amongst arabs. Those who move to syria, lebanon or jordan, still live in refugees camps, do not have any nationality and are among the poorest people on this planet

I don't disagree with you and i'm not saying there is anything wrong with the hypocrisy involved, just that it exists. I believe in survival of the fittest, that's just how things work.. but i also believe in balance, fairness, justice.. and all that garbage :-)

So do I...
I guess it all depends on your point of views.
I'm not very keen on palestinians, but I guess that's because I'm Jewish.
I believe there are more people suffering in the world that deserves as much if not more attention as the palestinian; like the Kurds, Tibet and the 10,000 African kids who are dying everyday, but nobody cares about them :(
You never hear any condemnations about the 100+ people who are beheaded everyday in Algeria either...:2 cents:

Agreed.. and I'm thinking alot of things will not be given appropriate attention until other more important 'issues of national interest' are resolved.. atleast not by the U.S.

Hello? Were you just hiding under a rock in the year 2000 when Barak offered Arafat just that? A split Jerusalem, so that it was a capital of both Israel and a Palestinian state. And something like 97% of the disputed land. Arafat turned it down, because he's a paranoid fuck. The ragheads have only themselves to blame for what's going on. This could have ended 4 years ago.

Is a targeted killing not a terrorist type action in itself? I mean they "targeted" the WTC, they "targeted" the embassies, that is tactical terrorism.. So I assume targeting terrorists would be like reverse terrorism if you think about it kind of..

Although I think osama needs to be offed once found.. lol
