"Search" For Tomorrow
http://www.pulse24.com/Business/Top_...6-001/page.asp
By now you're more than familiar with computer search engines. You've likely gone to Google or Yahoo and typed in your subject and waited while the built-in 'bot returned hundreds, if not thousands, of results. But what if you were looking for an object or drawing instead of a word? That's what Purdue University professors were wondering, which led to the development of a new kind of 3D search engine, which allows users to literally draw in what they're looking for. The idea may seem strange at first, but it's expected to have valuable ramifications for business, especially for parts manufacturers. |
