why did gas prices go up?

i thought we won the war?

or does the price of fuel have nothing to do with the fact that we practically own that country now?

im lost (as usual)

:/

As much oil as we bring in from Iraq, we more than likely bring in 50 times that from OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries). OPEC keeps raising the cost of a barrel, so our gas prices go up. We will have to conquer the entire middle east before gas prices go down!

Gas prices are lower than ever. Maybe your gas station just raised prices on you because they got word that you're now loaded.

Stop complaining about gas prices. It costs less in USA than Europe and in countries like Brazil.

While true the price per barrel is up some, the price of gasoline ALWAYS goes up when they start diverting oil to the National Oil Reserves. This time, Dubya refuses to slow down how much they are diverting.

Same as, he could force the prices down if he released a few million barrels (won't happen until this guy is OUTTA there).

And in the Spring they have to start making quite a few different blends of fuels to follow EPA guidelines (whish IS a good thing supposedly) But they realllllly need to build more refineries.

I think it was in an article that they haven't built a new one in like 20 yrs. We thought we had one in town, but I guess its nothing more than a gas storage depot. Hundreds of huge tanks of it. We need a really LONG hose... anyone know where they sell 2 mile lengths of it?!

*******************

Jer... Brazil - Europe is ALOT diff than the States. How many miles do YOU drive on an average day? How many gallons do you absoLUTEly need to deal with life in a months time. Same applies to Europe. You normally don't have to travel the vast distances thats pretty common in the US.

Our housing is usually not real close to our workplaces and such things like that. Traffic jams cause alot of fuel to get burnt up sitting and waiting. 40-200 miles a day is pretty common to get to work and back each day.

$40 per week for gas, to someone making $200 clear per week is a heckuva hit to absorb.

Because of the higher demand for more efficient vehicles, I saw on the news that large automakers are switching to Diesel again. Like Mercedes, VW, and Chrysler are going to make Diesel cars. LOL! They also said that 40% of Europe already drives Diesel cars.

Gemini, here in Brazil most of the people has to drive a lot to their work. Many lives in other cities, just like in US. But the streets here SUCKS, lots of holes

I drive ZERO miles per day. I don't have a car and I don't even know how to drive yet! The average for a gallon here is $2.70, so a gallon costs about the average hourly wage.

Marcedes and VW on diesel? that's news for you? There are more diesel MB & VW cars here than you could imagine. They are very good and have surprising accelerating. nothing like the old shitty diesel you knew.

I drive turbo on gas, I give a shit about gas prices tho

Stop the fucking moaning. We in the UK pay about £5 a gallon, which is about $9 a gallon
