What's the deal with BKDR_IRCFLOOD.X?
Every time I run housecall.trendmicro.com I get a warning that BKDR_IRCFLOOD.X has been cleaned. Wait, that's not entirely accurate - every time I run housecall after firing up mIRC, I get the warning.
So I did a little research and learned that a lot of people think it's a false positive. I ran across a few posts (not here) where folks mentioned that if mIRC is running, housecall will find WORM_THRAX.A. Tried it for myself and sure enough, there it was. Then, after the supposed worm was cleaned, my mIRC shortcut didn't work anymore. Best I can tell from reading and personal experience is that housecall is seeing mIRC itself as malware. Anyhahahaha know any better? I've run several other virus scans and none of them finds a thing.
