Ok guys here is my question..

What is the better value.

If I order a 2 6' inch pizza for 10.00 or if I decide to order a 12' inch pizza for 12.00. This is so DAMN easy. but you need to explain why.

Order the 2 six inch pizza for $10, because if you ad up the diameters of the two 6 inch pizzas you get a 12 inch pizza, but for $2 less.

or look at it this way

2 6 inch pizzas at $ would equal to .83 cents an inch

12 inch pizza at $12 would cost you $1 an inch.

no. the area of the 12 inch pizza is far greater than that of two 6 inch pizzas. think about it... put two 6 inch circles side by side.

12' pizza is better deal

the surface area of 12' pizza is twice as much two of 6' pizza together

12' pizza is 113 square inches
while 2 of 6' pizza is 56 square inches

The 12 inch pie has almost twice the "area" of the 2 6 inch pies, making it the better vaule.

pi X 3 X 3 X 2 = 56.7 inches(2) Area

The 12 inch pizza is the better deal. It's all about surface area.

Formula for figureing out the area of a circle is (PI*R*R) I forget how your supposed to make it look

Since they measure a pizza based on edge to edge you have to take half of that to get your R.

so in the case of the 6 inch pizza each one should give you an area of 28.26 square inches.. or the 2 of them 56.52 square inches. For $10 they cost you $0.1769 per square inch.

For the 12 inch pizza you get an area of 113.04 square inches giving you a cost of $0.1061 per square inch....
