Okay, my webdesigner/hosting guy (same person) took major offence to something I said, and I think im in bizarro world when im talking to him. So I figured the best way to see if im right or wrong is ask the masses and see whats up.

Here's our msn convo (notice the time frame in RED):

Its no big deal, it just at the time seemed like you were avoiding the question.

So that was the end of our convo and the last time we spoke. This is the email I get from him.

When my puppy has to poopie and knocks to go outside, you expected that I stay on my computer "just in case" someone else online has a question to ask me, risking soiling my carpet? Or when my puppy knocks next time, I should be sure to start typing in my final parting salutations to all who I've been chatting with online. And didn't I say I had a unexpected chaotic circumstances to deal with? Sorry if my life isn't as cut-and-dry as you'd like. I didn't say you were a nut case. I said you appeared obsessive-compulsive, controlling. I already have a girlfriend -- I thought you were a guy. All I meant was, dude, lighten up. I figured if you had the nerve to complain to me about something so petty, I have the right to tell you to lighten up.

And finally, my reply:
I'm a reasonable person. A two minute lapse in a conversation when I am asking someone who I pay for their services, a question regarding their services, I, and most people would expect a response. I didnt go insane, I didnt get mad, I didnt accuse you of anything. I just said that my impression when you left was it seemed like you were avoidng me. You came back and said you saw things differently. Apparently if someone doesnt keep the convo rolling in a span of 2 minutes, the conversation is idle and doesnt require a parting salutation. Hey, thats FINE with me. Not everyone sees things the same way and I told you it was all good. Don't come down on me like im some nut case.

Now, am I in bizarro world or is this clown retarded? The only reason im asking is because he's accusing me of being controlloing, and if thats the case I seriously need to give my head a shake. I like to treat all people I work with good.

Sometimes, things happen and people have to leave their computers - business or not - there is an office or a home to run too. If it was that pressing and important, use a phone - I'm sure everyone has one, a portable one too and if not, they have a cell.

I'd rather my server guys dropping me like a hat if somethings up with the servers than chatting me up for business while my site or 1000 others have their sites down. On the same note, if he had to take his dog out, for all he knew, you dropped him off without answering his last message.

Keep in mind that talking via IMs is not the same as talking in person. This day and age people have forgotten we can not read a persons face or see whats going on like you would in a "sit down meeting". Messages get lost, multiple conversations can get confusing, etc. I wouldnt let it bother me either way.

Thanks. I understand where you're coming from, but the impression I had was it doesnt take 3.5 hours to walk a dog.. atleast not my lazy ass.. 20mins and im done. lol. Also, I replied to his message within two minutes. When you're typing something on msn the other person can see in the little corner that you're typing a response.. so if the dog is wanting to go out at that time, how long does it take to type in "brb" instead of leaving me hagning?

I do appreciate your response. Atleast it shows me im not completely right, and perhaps I should be more understanding. But did my response really make me seem controlling, or girlfriend-like??

The only reason he emailed you after is to let you know that just because
you pay for his services it doesn't allow you to demand he salute when
you say so.

Too many client behave like that and you should realize when you cut a check
it doesn't mean you own somebody.

Stop asking where he went and keep it business or you'll find you'll get
shittier work or you may get dumped all together.

This is just me but you make too many spelling mistakes and if I had a
poor-ass speller giving me shit I'd get even more pissed off.
