I had a friend that answered a ad in the paper for a graphic designer. There were 500 resumes turned in and interviewed 8 people out of that 500. The thing is (probably like your GF). She would rather collect unemployment then work at a fast food resturant. If with out unemployment, she probably won't work at a fastfood resturant. She has a car payment coming up and no way to pay.

It comes down to what other people have said. People would rather be unemloyed and lazy then work at some low paying job.

They are just LAZY . This is a very bad habbit . I was getting lazy for a while but I don't wanna turn out like any idiots that only drink beer and watch TV for the rest of their lifes .

It's not being lazy! A lot of people WANT to work but if they can pay their bills with their unemployment check because they're bigger than the checks you get from McDonalds, then they're going to stay on unemployment until they find a job that pays better than unemployment or until their unemployment runs out (6 months, I believe).
