Are you with the RABO bank? I got really angry over this some months ago. They have tow tarives e12,50 for cashing the money right away and e40 for receing the money a few weeks later after they cashed it (incasso)....

So they make you pay more for waiting for your money....

File a complaint and tell them to reimburse you. Your cqehues should have been cashed OGV instead of onder incasso.
Costs would be e 12,50.

Good news...I complained (three times) and got reimbursed...

Oh by the way...they will tell you to ask for wires cause they are cheaper...they are NOT cheaper... Rabo charges E 10 for receiving wires but does not realize you have to pay for the costs in the USA (somewhere in the range of $15 to $30 as well)...

Hm.. always been a lurker here, I think this is a good moment for my first post!

I'm with Rabobank too, and I got pissed at them a while ago, when I saw they were suddenly charging 12,50 for each cheque.
A friend of mine brought me to this: www.checkusout.nl
You just send checks to those guys, and they only charge like, ?3,75 per cheque. Been using them for almost a year now, never had any complaints!

Use ABN they charge me e10 / e15 per check.

But the best way to get your money quickly & safe is to use Epassporte with there Visa Card.

Simple.. Sponsor sends money and you can get it out the wall 5 min later

I'm also with that bank.

40 euro's for after incasso checks?!
Lately they have been doing these after incasso jokes. Now i know why!

They are also being more strict now.
Normally I'd just give them a check and they would give me a paper. Now they show up with that tool you need for online banking and ask me to verify the pincode. Identification is not enough. They charge me monthly for the checks btw. Not after a few months.

With RABO there is two ways to cash a cheque:

onder incasso : They cash the cheque themselves first after they have done this you get your money. Costs are e40 a cheque.

OGV: They put the money in your account right away and then cash the money in the USA. If the cheque bounces they take the money from your account again. costs are e 12,50.

I still can not see an advantage of OGV over onder incasso. They make you pay more and wait longer...

Cost of cheques are always taken from your account at the end of a quarter. Loot at your bankstatements what code they use...

If you want me to explain the ins and outs just hit me up on icq...

Oh yeah I forgat...Rabobank is a cooperative bank...meaning they have different rules in different cities...
I dont have to verify with pincode and I pay threemonthly.
The mofo's told me they stopped accepting foreign cheques though two months ago. I had to threathen with pulling my main stream biz from them. Turned out that the employee made an error..

Yep. I have my minimum payout set to $500 with most sponsors. Some have sent me $10 or $20 checks in the past, I just tear 'em up.

Wow, and I thought my bank is expensive, I pay ?1,75 per check and ~?22 to deposit the money on my account, so ~?40 for let's say 10-15 checks.

But ít still adds up to ?1000-1500 per year, including additional costs for wires and other fees.

I knew I bookmarked something that might be usefull...

http://www.usbankaccount.com/US_bank_account.html

for under the price of what you paid for cashing your checks you can setup an US bank account... maybe it's worth looking into?

Haven't tried this yet so dunno if this is a good company
