Video Capture Card - Need suggestions

I'm looking for a video capture device but I really don't know which one to get. I want to capture from my PVR then burn it to a DVD.

I don't need a TV tuner.

I want something that will actually look nice.

Pinnacle or Hauppauge or something else?

Yep..Pinnacle Studio is the best bet to go for digital!
I'm now using my digital cam to be my interface to deliver digital signals from my dvdplayer to the computer. It's amazing how much better the digital video is to analog (vhs tape/tv).

Next project is using tivo to capture in digital and transfer that to hard drive!

Hey ease off..it was an easy mistake..when you said "Pinnacle" most people assumed you were talking about encoding software..not a capture card (yes..it was in your subject heading, but the body of the message was a bit confusing).

My quotes from the 1st post :

"I'm looking for a video capture device but I really don't know which one to get. I want to capture from my PVR then burn it to a DVD.

I don't need a TV tuner. "

WTF?! A video capture device. I also pointed that I didn't need a TV tuner. Was that really confusing? Geez..

I'm using an ATI 9700 all in wonder pro. It does a little more than just video capture, but I've been happy with capture quality.

I think just about any ATI video capture will work well.

I already have a ATI TV/Tuner Wonder VE. My guess is that it's using the same capture device. And the quality sucks. There's interference and shit like that..

Weird .. I haven't had any troubles at all.

I know some people are using Dazzle products. Umm Dazzle Digital Video Creater or something like that .. I used one of their early products, and it worked pretty good back then. Their new stuff is supposed to be pretty good, but I don't know first hand.
