Bigger, seasoned, webmasters take more fluffing than 1000 smaller webmasters..

Big guys want newer banners, ads, hosted galleries more often, they will e-mail and bitch at every little thing. Ratio slips for one day they are on your ass on ICQ as soon as they get up.

Who said the seasoned people don't need to be held step by step?

They're just bigger steps. You gotta really provide for them. A n00b wants to know where your banners are. A seasoned vet wants custom banners with matching full page ads and free hosting to put them on with content from the members area that no one else is using.

I'll tell you exactly why Quiet.

Because you never know when one of your small affiliates is going to turn into a major producer for you. It doesn't happen all the time obviously, but it happens enough that its worth the ad investment and risk to get all the webmasters you can.

You see the 80/20 rule doesn't stop on level one. It goes to level 2 also.

So out of the 80% of the little affiliates, 20% of those will turn into something worth having.

Yep having diveristy helps, plus if the one guy has something go wrong on his end your screwed.

Another reason you never know who of the small guys will end up being a big fish down the road.

I feel its well worth looking after the new webmasters, if you take time now when they are small some day they may very well get big and make you and themselves some serious coin.

Big Sig spending and buying banner ads on msg boards or webmaster resources are not cost effective for us...

I totally agree with quiet

We spend much more on direct bonus money to our partners than advertising... We treat our partners right...

Our larger partners send the vast majority of joins.
Our smaller partners help brand the sites.

We love all our salesmen the same

Top performers, let's talk about bonus money!

no its not, that example is an equal trade off any way you look at it. I'd personally rather 1 person send 100 then 100 send me 1. less idiots to have to deal with

I'd say 80/20 would be being quite generous with the group we're talking about here.
Exactly. If you talk to big programs some feel that way and some don't.

Yes I am very sure on that, of course I would want both groups.

Think about it.

1 wm sends 100 joins per day.

You have to pay $40 per join, and make sure they are very happy or they might go elsewhere.

100 wm sending 1 join per day.

They get paid the standard $35 per sale, and if one or two leaves / stops sending its not a big deal. Also with 100 wm's sending 1 a day quite a few of them grow to send 2, 3 or 10 joins per day.

The whales like to spread it out. So if you just court the big guys and even if that works. a few bad days of sales and they will be swapping you out. A broader base is more stable.

Having said that, the traffic trades on a programs exits is a really big deal. So there is a whole new whale right there.

I would love to buy your exits Quiet if you ever want to sell them.
