city or country?

what's better to live in - a small town or a big city.

i live in a small town but i'm really leaning towards living on the outskirts of a city now.I never liked living IN a city - traffic drove me nuts, but i'm changing my mind again on my thoughts on it. I NEED a big yard (love them too much not to have one now) and big yards are too much tax for me inside city limits... but I do wana be closer to fun stuff like night life, restrauants, clubs, shopping, friends etc etc etc.

really thinking of moving now

I've lived in a city my whole life so I would say city. However it is nice to get out of the city every now and then ie cabin on the lake.

i have a cottage on the lake now - much better - only use it about 3 months of the year when it's nice - fuck the rest of the year there.

I grew up in the burbs... great for a family, but now I couldn't stand not living in the city. Much more fun being in the middle of everything.

i am all about the mountain vacation town/village. soooo much too do. hiking and snowboarding right outside your door. you are in walking distance of everything. fresh air, wildlife, and an extremely lively atmosphere. I LOVE IT

Banff and Whistler are my two favorite places in Canada. i really like Montreal, but if i ever have to live in a city long term again, it would have to be Vancouver. awesome town.

i find cities aren't very good for me in the long term though, because i've really needed to keep active in order to stay in shape as i get older, and if i'm not right out there in the mountains, i just don't do enough...

i thought like that from about 18- 24ish - then i moved to a lake front house in the county for 2 years - then into a small town which is where I am now, for the last 6 years.

at 31 I wana go back near to the city . not necessarly inside but much closer than I am now.

great point - it's why i wont' ever give up my cottage - hiking, boating, swimming etc all there in an awesome area.

all the damn activity i get here though is riding my quads though- i can feel my ass getting larger and I used to be HUGLY active. I need to move somewhere where I can get out more often in the winter, fall, and spring.

i could care less about the party and disco scene - with one porn convention a month that pretty much takes care of any urges I have for night life.

i just want fun stuff to do during the day and early evening.

i do keep a boat docked in gimli but I have a cottage on dorthey lake cause lake winnipeg isn't great for boating - too often it's too wavy to go out.

I like just outside a big city. I like quiet but also the ability to shop at a good number of stores, see sporting events or concerts etc as well.

Traffic does suck but if you live just outside town then its not so bad the few times you head into the city

City. People tend to be trimmer inside of the city for some strange reason. It's probably because there's so much fit competition that the motivation rate stays high.
