Just walking the dog and smelled "cannibis" in the air.

Look over and see its the neighbors kids smoking some joints.

Wondering if I should just let it ride. Go have a talk to them. Or let their parents know.

Looked liked some older kids were with them. The neighbors kids are in their mid teens.

I know weed is relatively harmless and a lot of people think it should be legalized, but I've seen a lot of young people start with that then get all fucked up with more hardcore drugs.

I was really surprised to see this, the kids don't look like the type that would even be smoking let alone doing weed.

I'm sure you as a parent would want someone to come and let you know if they found your child smoking pot.

I for one think it should be legalized but also think it should be controlled and for adults only...so that issue IMO doesn't even come into play.

heheh my neighbours all smoked weed, kids especially.

They were 15, I was 19. I didn't say anything and my mother didn't either. It was in their own backyard, so who are we to butt in?

Seriously, kids can't hide weed from parents for very long unless the parents don't want to know.

Come to think of it, my neighbours still smoke weed. They're 45 and 60 now, though.

Smoking weed in their own neighborhood is probably alot better than what most of the other kids are doing, especially if you're in a rich area.

I was a real "square" when I was young. Never wanted to get involved with drugs at all. In my 20's I shared a house with a few friends who all smoked pot. They always did the come on come on just try it you'll like, but I never did. I used to say just blow some in my face and they'd crack up.

I doubt my kid will ever smoke or do drugs. I've already had long talks about it with him. He's 9 years old and approaching the age when kids start finding out about that stuff.

Actually my biggest fear with him is getting some girl pregnant. My ex-wife was incredibly gorgeous and he got her looks completely. The kid already is the most popular boy in his class with the girls and he's only 9. I already found notes from girls in his book bag. I'm sure the phone will be ringing off the hook when he hits his teens.

Guess I have to have the birds and the bees talk soon too.

Honestly, I think a pothead is one of the safest things you can be as a young person these days. It seems like some type of drugs or alcohol got to everyone I went to school with. Whether it be just partying in college or getting hooked on coke and throwing it all away.

The kids that never change are the hippie pothead kids who don't believe in drinking or doing other drugs. God bless em.

I would definately tell the parents. Kids can't even legally smoke cigarettes. They aren't mature enough to handle that kind of decision. The parents need to know.

Well, it's been over a year since I touched any narcotic substance but yeah, it's basically mellowing. On average it just puts you in a good mood, slows you down a bit and relaxes you. There's also a good body feeling that comes along with it.

If you smoke ALOT or you have no tolerance you shouldn't drive. But it's not like alcohol. If you smoke that much you'll KNOW you shouldn't drive and you woudln't want to anyway.

I used to go out with friends and maybe take a hit or 2 and be fine to drive, just in a good fun mood. It all depends I guess.

1st of all, weed is not a gateway drug.....it doesnt necessarily lead to anything.

it gets you high....you described the effects just fine.

i use to drive all the time when i was smoking.....smoking always made me much more conscienscous of my driving and i felt one with the road.
however, i dont do that anymore just because it isnt right to drive under the influence....whether it's alcohol or weed.

Well remembering way back in my school days, the older kids would all offer drugs for free at first, just like "free trials", to the younger kids to get them hooked on it and then turn them into "recurring" paid customers.

Weed is a beautiful thing. Back in high school when we all went out and got drunk, 1 guy was the designated driver, he just got high all night. Worked fine for 4 years of high school, he never got in an accident and always drove just fine. Meanwhile there were about 15 drunken wrecks by other guys in the same time period.

I wouldnt neccessarily drive around after smoking all day, but some people get a rush from caffeine or smoking a cigarette, does that mean they shouldnt drive either?

Weed is non addictive also. Once I spend a whole summer doing nothing but smoking pot, all day every day pretty much. When I ran out, I didnt smoke again for almost 6 months. No cravings at all.

Depending on the drug I guess. With weed noone's going to get hooked. They're just gonna buy some every weekend for fun. If coke gets introduced though each individual kid is gonna have a problem.

And these days pretty much everyone's a dealer. Kids sell pot to their friends all the time, whoever's got it you go to. One week a few friends might buy off you then you buy off them. Few people are actually making cash.

You'll probably have little things "break" or come up missing until they are old enough to move out. If you see them step off the property doing it call the cops, otherwise I'd stay out of it.

Nah man it's not fair to call the cops. Marijuana laws aren't fair and you may very well end up putting one of the older kids in jail for 3 years or so. I went through it when I was 19, the laws aren't fair at all.

How do you know the driver was high? Marijuana tests can only determine if someone has smoked within 30 days. In 9 states, if you have smoked pot within 30 FUCKING DAYS and are pulled over, YOU GET A DUI. The laws are bullshit.

You'll probably have little things "break" or come up missing until they are old enough to move out. If you see them step off the property doing it call the cops, otherwise I'd stay out of it. __________________ .
