Tattoo cover up?

I loved my tattoos when I was 20, loving them much less now that I am in my 30's. A friend of mine had laser removal and it looks like shit, so that's not an option for me at this point.

Any good coverup makeup out there? I have tried Dermablend and it's useless. I would think that maybe some of you photographers know something out there that works?

And if there's nothing on the market, I am betting someone could make a fortune with a good product.

I have a bunch of them, on shoulders and back - and they are actually really nice quality work, don't need touchups - that isn't the problem. It's more like, if I want to wear a sleeveless dress to have dinner with my grandma, I look like the tattooed lady.

Yeah I was hoping for maybe some coverup makeup suggestions as amputating back/shoulders/arms isn't really an option at this point.

One of our models has a tat that we have to hid for shoots. We discovered that adding a pale to almost white (or color correcting base) before you add dermablend works well. Once that is applied, we would add a foundation and then powder to match her skin tone.

I'm a make-up artist, and I have use and sold Derma Blend.....
it is about the only thing that works, are you using a sponge?
Derma blend will not work without the Setting Powder...........
I have even covered a little girls birth marks and her legs!!!!
Maybe your Tattoo's are dark in color and big? Derma Blend is even waterproof, try to apply a thick layer thrn put powder over it gently, in a dabbing applacation. You might have to use alot, it's all about one coat on top of another.

No worries, sweetie! We have had a lot of trial and error with different base colors and such. Depending on the person's skin tones and tat colors, opposite base colors (blue, green, yellow, purple) will work as well as white, if not better sometimes.

Yes, unfortunately they are very big and bright/dark. I have used a sponge to apply DermaBlend and used the setting powder, but I end up looking like my skin is sloughing off and there's something dark underneath...I bet it would look fine in a photo, but in real-life Derma-Blend just doesn't cut it for me.

Again, if DermaBlend is the best option currently available, I would think that considering many of the folks with big tats would appreciate a product that works a little better, and someone could make a fortune marketing something like that - I'd sure buy it!

I don't think it's possible to completely cover up a tattoo. I't was made to be permanent, so there you go.

Post some pics so we can see what you are talking about.

If they aren't too messy I think you should keep them.

I asked my friend that works at a tattoo parlor...she says nowadays, laser remove is pretty much 100% effective. The only drawback is that depending on the size of the tattoo, it will probably take several sessions, and you'd be looking at $150+ per session depending on the doctor. Most plastic surgeons offer free consultations though -- wouldn't hurt you to go in and ask, and check out some before and after pics of work they've done.

Anyway...this was the best site I could find for other info:
http://www.alwaysyouthful.com/housto...oval-texas.htm

...you should definitely post some pics of your tats though

i want to thank the original poster and the people that responded for starting this thread.

i have spent countless hours with photoshop erasing tattoos on otherwise beautiful girls so their pix could become saleable.

this isn't what i want to do---but it's the way the world thinks---and people vote with their dollars. statistically speaking, from an economic standpoint tattooing yourself make you less beautiful, that's what the world thinks.

gals, i can tell you without prejudice that placing permanent tattoos on your body is a loser if you should ever want to model. think carefully before doing so.

if you must be fasionable and you think body ornamentation is chic, get clever and use henna type wash off tattoos.

because at some point in your life you will want to grow up.

thats funny, i'm all grown up now and I would never wish away my tattoes. but that's because I got each one of them for a reason and they each have special meaning for me. I understand why Lord Helpus may want to cover her tattoes for specific occasions and there should be a viable option for doing that on the market. But to all you haters who think a girl is a loser or unattractive because she has a tattoo, you can

I like. Let's see some photoshop action and see if you can match up all that shade to remove the tattoo. gl
