I'm sick of people complaining over $100, I'm sick of people complaining over $1 fees, I'm sick of people demanding 20 galleries in a night for $10 each, I'm sick of people wanting 3 days of programming done in 2 hours for a quarter of the price, I'm sick of people wanting virtual hosting for 2 cents a gig and $2 a month and only pushing .5 megabits with their 10k tpg, I'm sick of people demanding processing with no processing fees and no visa fee and yet being surprised when the processor is gone 2 months later.

Grow up folks... you can only get stuff for so cheap before the stuff you gets just isn't quality anymore.

If you want 20 galleries in a night for $10 each, be glad it has any thumbs on it at all.

If you want 3 days of programming in 2 hours for cheap... be glad the text links even work.

If you want 2 cent a gig hosting on a server with 2000 other sites, be glad your website loads at all.

If you want to nickle and dime a processor and somehow assume they'll just pull money out of the air to keep in operation, be glad they still exist at all a year later.

Somewhere along the way, the meaning of business got messed up. It's not about screwing each other over for signups, it's not about getting the most for the cheapest you possibly can.

It's about creating something and doing something you can be proud of. It's about quality, it's about gaining and earning respect from peers who do the same. You don't sacrifice your own vision just to get the business of the cheap ass who won't pay for what you are worth.

You get what you pay for folks.. if you pay me a nickle, I'll give you a nickles worth of work.

Depending on the quality of course, i mean if you pay someone $10 an hour for design work, you will get what you pay for.

no, I agree... only spend what ever is in your budget.

However, you should strive to go beyond that eventually... not stick with it.

Increase your income and increase your quality... therefore increasing your income further.

If you've been in this business for 12 months now and are still buying the cheapest of what ever you can find because it's all you can afford, I suggest looking for new employment. Burger King is always hiring.

It's the way I was raised...plus I'm going into a career with purchasing/cost accounting..

Of course I don't look at price only, but it is one of the factors I consider, along with the other obvious things like quality, reliability etc.

Believe me, I used to run an internet provider with tens of thousands of customers. You wouldn't believe some of the excuses we'd hear for them not wanting to pay their overage fees on web use or excess usage on dialup over their alloted time. I feel your pain.

On the other hand, there are a lot of mediocre talents in this industry too. They get $20 maybe because they weren't capable of $200 work. Because they suddenly think they learned paintshop pro or bought a $250 digital camera and call themselves a photographer. But hey, many times thats all you need to get the job done. So quit bitching because a guy just needs a $10 logo to slap on his page. Quit bitching when someone isn't interested in your shit because your portfolio is SPECTACULAR and yet the piece of work you are trying to pass off to him looks like a monkey did it. Quit fucking bitching because he needed some filler text for his free page and you somehow translated that to needing pulitzer work. Whether you want to face it or not, a LOT of people that work in the industry don't possess the quality to demand better prices in the first place. When people get tire of their stuff not working and not producing then they will realize that they need tp pay for something decent.

I fell for the discount BS when I first bought some content.
"$200 for 4000 pics". Only two pics was worth a dime.
I got a refund and paid $145 for 200 pics and shut the fuck up.

The seller actually warned me that the cheap stuff was shit but he sells it anyway because some cheap bastard will think they got away with something by buying it.

Buying bulk is very different from what I'm talking about. If you can fill a 100 megabit pipe all by yourself, I expect you'll get cheaper bandwidth.
