Catching cheater who uses proxy
I set up an CGI that I use to track clicks by someone. I pay them per click. I am wondering is there anyway they can cheat me. I have an IP log, referral url, and browser type. Although if he uses a proxy is there anyway where I can detect that besides seeing the IP. Like by a cookie or by his computer name.

holy cow, you will get burned hardcore.
The newest ways they are cheating are not using proxy's. Best bet is to approve affiliates and make sure they send real human clicked traffic. If someone wants to send you alot of traffic becareful. You can check the header request to see if it is a proxy or not, but you'll want to get the aol part handled so you dont block that traffic. |
