PayPal v's EPassporte ?!

With all the complaints and frankly the shabby way PayPal has treated the Adult Industry why aren't more people using EPassporte ?! .... now I'm refering to B2B here ie. paying for content, advertising, hosting and other services etc.

I made the switch when the PayPal dramas first happened and haven't been happier in terms of being able to transfer funds and withdraw them via my epassporte card at the local atm.

So why aren't more people using them for busienss purposes ?!

(btw not an ad and i'm not affiliated with 'em apart from being a customer)

Paypal has a larger market share for the time being so its just easier to use because the chances of people having a paypal account are better.

How can u say that ?! ... Our account was suspended simply because we're in what they term to be the Adult business, we had over 5,000 transactions with them with a total of 4 complaints, ever!

The only people I know who are in the Adult biz and still selling memberships through PayPal are doing such a low volume it doesn't register on their radar ... or am I wrong ?

youre probably right at least i wont leave 5k in my paypal account that''s just my opinion (easy money for every company) but after all i have nothing to complain.

Epassporte has an much higher rate for merchant buiz. And PayPal is merged with Ebay so what else do you want.

Ebay is gold

It does seem like more and more people are using ePassporte.
There are several guys for whom I do "conversions",
accepting payments for them via Paypal and paying them
via ePassporte or vice versa, so the subject is of interest to me.

ePassporte is probably not for everyone... after all, nothing is.

However if you are looking for a system that doesn't mind adult, hell, actually likes the adult marketplace, has faces you know from being in the industry behind it, supporting it and associated with it, then you might want to look into it.

If you need help or questions answered, then by all means, let me know -- [email protected] -- if you just want to bitch about how you wouldn't use us if the cow jumped over the moon and a meteor hit you in the back of the head and knocked you silly, then this is the forum in which to express those thoughts, I'll delete them from email ;-}}}}

A very good question.

We were with Paypal until they kicked us out and are with Epassporte. The difference in service and market penetration is amazing.

Firstly Paypal was easier to sign up to, secondly it was easier to use, third it was first. I'm not sure whether it is still expensive to us for the buyer, they used to charge $5 for every $50 loaded to your account.

For us the biggest problem is they will not send a confirmation email that a buyer has paid, so on every order we have to go to their site, not the simplest to use, and see if the payment was made. In a lot of cases is not, but they are getting fewer.

When I asked them about this at the Florida show there answer was that some people are getting 100 sign ups a day and do not want all those email. When I replied the emails could be opt in they did not bother to answer.

Yes Epassporte is not for everyone, but only 3-4 % of what we used to do on Paypal, shows it could be for a lot more.

Thanks.
So if I set one up, and load $500 on it.. it'll cost me $25 load fee, and $35 if I want the electron card for a total of $60.

Then if I send $300 to someone, it's 25 cents or is it more ?

Then a yearly fee of $40 ( electron card + virtual fee ).

To receive say $ from a sponsor, it's a $2.00 flat fee ?

Anything else you can think of ?

You can sign up with sponsors who set your card up for free.

If you make the signups, you don't pay a dime for receiving the $$$.

The electron card is not a must since you can wire your income to your bank account.

If you send money now that's 25 cents indeed.

So I think it is a pretty cool option being adult friendly

charly ... i *compleatly* agree that there are feature and function improvements that could be made with their offering (hell which one of our sites couldn't be made better ) ... but i can also appreciate it's a time issue ... now all this said we could be let down and they might just sit on the product which means it'll die

Savas,

From both my personal experience and our members experience it's do'able but definetly not a smooth process, my understanding is that yes just about everybody could get an account, but if your out side of the USA it can prove to be a pain in the ass because of their account statement pin / currency conversion approval process basically doesn't translate cleanly overseas and then the only means a potential buyer is left with is manual verification via fax *shudders* ... so yes it's a good last resort for all overseas traffic but could be better.

What amazed me when I spoke to them was their reluctance to admit it needed changing. But as you said they change or the die.

Picking a personal account will not work for a lot of B2B.
