HELP! I am building a new computer, what monitor do you recommend?

17 or 19inch. Which is the best?

Also where's the best and most reliable company to buy parts from? Newegg.com?

frys is great. I like their selection. I used to shop there all the time when I lived in the US. We could use a Frys here in the Philippines.

I'd go for a pair of 17's over a single 19. I tend to like the Samsung LCDs over any other brand, good brightness and color quality. Check out Tiger Direct, just got a new system in from them and the prices are pretty good.

Both companies seem to be good, so being a cheap bastard I'd go with the lowest final price (include the shipping costs too!).

Best thing to do is head to the nearest BestBuy, CompUSA, CircuitCity to SEE the monitor in real life, then order it online.

For me the NEC and ViewSonic LCD's seemed a bit muddy in "live" color.

Find out what the return policy is if you get a monitor with dead pixels.
