ARS is now redirecting traffic from old links to Platinum Bucks.

I hope Platinum Bucks aren't shaving

Anyway, I am not so much concerned about it since i don't have many links to ARS now, but I know many webmasters are really worried about the recent changes.

Best luck to ARS, I hope they find the best solution to make the most from the old links for both them and their loyal webmasters.

yeah I thought so too. If they didn't have a matching site in their current listing they send your traffic for their ppc se. Thanks ars for redirecting my old links to pb sites with like 10 pop ups and not informing your webmasters first. Time to remove my links...

The thing that sucks most is the excessive consoles that Platinum pops.

I switched out most of my links already, still looking for a few stragglers.

We're talking about the traffic redirected from old ARS sites. Therefore, we're already signed up for ARS4REAL. You got to be fucking kidding.

That and your sig is too big.

ARS is paying $25 per signup for these redirects, plus you STILL get credit for FMAO on the exits. This is a good thing.

Ohhhh really?! You missed the part that ars makes $40 per signup, so this means a $15 profit for every fucking signup WE are sending them. If I want to promote platinum bucks I do it with my codes and make $35-40 instead...

Yeah seriously. It doesn't even make any sense. Just send the traffic there directly. Or at least to another sponsor like topbucks.

For some women it makes perfect sense - it's what they call feminine logic.

Paparazzi, there are a couple of points that you're missing, though. First, there are a ton of people who have hundreds or thousands of links that they don't have time to change or can't because they might get banned from TGPs, etc. FMAO wasn't making anyone much, so ARS had to find an opion fast. Now you're getting $25 per signup instead of nothing.

Secondly, yes, ARS is making some money in the deal. Maybe they are making $15 a signup, maybe not. Whatever. I'm sure they made a hell of a lot more money than that per signup before. If not, they wouldn't be in business very long. I doubt Platinum Bucks is giving them recurring like they had before.

ARS is trying to do what's best for everyone, and getting these signups is better than getting a few cents here and there from FMAO.

ARS is doing what's good for ARS and despite all the spin they churn out they don't give a five dollar fuck about their affiliates.

We're just cannon fodder to them.

If ARS didn't have its webmasters they wouldn't make ANYTHING. They know that and YOU know it as well. If it wasn't an urgent thing, ARS would never have made these changes.

I don't know about YOUR logic, but I'd rather make $25 than $.25, which is what so many were making with FMAO.

I'm not saying that ARS is ONLY looking out for webmasters. If they were then they'd go out of business PDQ, but they have to make the choices that they feel will help keep their valuable webmasters while still ensuring their profitability. They don't do ANYONE any good if they're out of business.

Nobody saw this coming right? the solution is rather simple. It may take a long time to switch your links but who told you to put up 10 million links to one sponsor. You saw their reality shit wasnt converting.

I send my traffic to FMAO any day over that platinum bucks popup hell. Ars does what's best for them and not for us. Ars needs some extra money for sig whores spamming the boards...

All you're really saying here Tootie is that you're an idiot.

If they really cared about their webmasters they would have handled the whole situation far better than they did.

The simple fact is that they were in bad financial trouble - even Marc De admitted that they were bleeding money and had been for a long time.

To survive they needed a very quick fix and they took the one that was good for the company and not for the webmaster.

In any situation like this there is always a win/win option.

They seem to have chosen the win/lose option instead and if this really was the win/'win option then they were and still are in deeper shit than many of us imagined.

Now let the ARS spin doctors and arse lickers queue here and tell us that it just isn't so.

i wish they were more prepared when the new system took over.. i did well with a few niches there, i have moved a couple niches to different sponsors and im doing well with them, well enough to stay with the newer sponsors.. but i do like ars, and i hope they get new sites up in a hurry.

If you don't like it change your links.

I'm sure platinum bucks will get you an account if you want to get that extra $15 yourself.

Or you can send it wherever you want.

At least they were nice enough to set something up that doesn't just kill all my links and hard work. My conversions might go to shit, but at least I'll still be making some money.

BTW, for those of you with A LOT OF POINTS, here's some fine print you might want to read:

"In order to get your points transferred, you must send a signup to a site in the ARS 4 Real portfolio within 30 days of 2/23/04. If you do not, you will lose your current points. "

Yup, but you can complain or do something basically.

Extended search and replace at the least and then a lot of uploading.

Sure the promo's etc wont match, but they already don't.

Yes for sure.

People that do this are able to divert their traffic around much easier.

If you are creative and a good designer, or pay to get them done they can be really awesome.
