Ever seen a dead person?

I saw my dead grandmother yesterday. Open cofin at the ceremony. I didnt dare to touch her tho, but it wasnt that hard as I thought it would be. I said goodbuy to her without touching. May she rest in peace.

Have you ever seen or touched a dead person? If so, isnt the temperature cold or.. ?

Yeaa, I didnt dare to touch... I was a wuz!

As I have mentioned in the past, seen thousands of dead people. Work in a funeral home, and I get the priveldge of seeing them right when they come in from the scene..no makeup..all bloody(depending on how they died). It really takes a special kind of person to do this job.

Yeah your reaction to a corpse depends on how you felt towards the person when they were alive - if they were someone you loved, then they're the body of a loved one, and not something disgusting - but if not, then it's like get that shit away from me.

When its someone you know and love, its a totally different story. I get people on my prep table that I have never me, don't know there stories (although everyone has a story), and dont know there family...so its different. I wouldnt be able to work on a person that I know.

My parents took care of a close friend of the family that was dying of cancer in 2002. He died in their home. I had seen dead people before, but not outside of a funeral home. It had a completely different feel.

When my grandmother passed away at my house, I witnessed it...

When we got to the hospital, they told us she had passed.

We saw the body then and I held her hand and caressed her head. She was still warm...

At the funeral I didn't have the courrage to touch her... I wanted too but couldn't.

I don't agree with other people saying it's because she didn't mean SO much to me.

Had an old lady die on an x-ray table. 1 second shes complaining
the next she's gone. Really freaked out the student tech that day.

Autopsy is pretty freaky. I guess mortians remove the organs too. Wouldn't want to do that everyday

I've seen a few dead bodies in my life. None was as traumatic as seeing my friend's 14 year old sister in an open casket after being hit by a car while she was doing community service on the side of a freeway.

She and 6 other kids were cleaning up the freeway when a woman who was drunk and high plowed into them at 60 miles per hour.

Saw my good friend Liza who died. Her Boyfriend asked me to go back to the hospital room while he dealt with all the paperwork. I was there when she passed, but when I went back to the room two hours later she was still there. That was really strange. I had to clean out her room while she was laying there, becuase I couldn't bear to come back without all her things, or upset her boyfriend by letting him know the coroner hadn't come yet.

When my mother found out she was terminal she made me promise that when she left this world I would be there with her because she was afraid. I kept my promise and I was holding one of her hands and rubbing her arm with my other hand when her time came. I told her it was ok to go, that I was right there with her, and so she took her last 3 breathes and then passed on. Hardest thing I have ever done in my life.

My Wife's Mother died from cancer a year before we got married, I was in the room when she passed. Touched her hand and kissed her goodbye a few minutes later.

One of the hardest days of my life.

I was on a payphone years ago and saw a dude get gunned down from 50 yards. Went over to him and watched him die. There was very little blood coming out of the 5 or 6 bullet holes he had in him. Was a sight for sure.

Seen 'em. Autopsied 'em. More than I ever care to remember...

I'm sorry your grandmom died....that's sad.

But, yeah, once it's time for the viewing, the body is pretty cold to the touch.

It's not necessary to touch. She lives in your heart.

when I was a kid my family always had open casket funerals, and my mom used to make us kiss them good-bye . . . probably part of the reason I am the way I am now.

My son is an EMT and on his first night on am ambulance ride along had to administer CPR to a gunshot victim who was pronounced DOA.. . . he kind of likes that stuff though.

My condolences.

I've lost a few grandparents and uncles to old age and sickness and it is tough. I'm not a big fan of touching the dead, but I always give them a final farewell kiss on the forehead out of love and respect.
