Man dead after lying in backyard for days

By Pedro Ruz Gutierrez | Sentinel Staff Writer Posted February 27, 2004, 11:20 AM EST Feb 27, 2004 http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/...home-headlines An 83-year-old Orange County man was found dead in his yard lying next to his wife who had been caring for him outside for several days, authorities said today. Glen Schibley of 5459 Brosche Road near South Semoran Boulevard was working in his yard Monday afternoon when he fell and was unable to get up, an Orange County sheriff's spokesman said. He told his wife, Harriet Schibley, 79, he did not want her to call authorities because of previous bad experiences with doctors. Instead, the wife fed her husband in the yard and cared for him until Wednesday night when a relative checked on the couple and found them, said Jim Solomons, the sheriff's spokesman. The woman had injured herself as well, Solomons said. "His wife left him in the yard, cared for him, brought him food and water, covered him up during our recent rain storms and provided whatever assistance she could," Solomons said. Harriet Schibley was taken to Florida Hospital East, where she was expected to recover. |

Hmmmmm
When did the guy die? Was he taken to hospital cos if she was feedin him and stuff then he'd be alive..... or did he die just as a relative turned up. Mmm ah well. Poor chap! |
