understanding Michael Moore
This apparently went over everyone's head. I see way too many people talking about Michael Moore for all the wrong reasons. The guy is not an anti-gun activist. Actually watch his movie before you go making stupid, uneducated comments about things you haven't even taken the time to study.

It was about VIOLENCE IN THE MEDIA. Fucking jesus christ, I can't understand how it could be more obvious. And the point is brilliant. If any of you have taken any psychology classes you will know this movie is right fucking on. Violence in the media has a HUGE impact on behavior of society. Entire CIVILIZATIONS have erupted in crime, corruption, and murder all because of what people started seeing on television. It really is sad, and it's also sad everyone mistakes the movie as being against guns. |

um...violence in the media and gun control are pretty related. violence in the media/govt.+ease of gun buying=more murders...the movie was about a lot of things.

And it's not so much about just violence in the media but the way we in America thrive on fear.
One of the best points of the movie and if everyone would just sit down in the mid afternoon and watch all the different evening news teasers they run you will see it. Sample blurbs you'll hear: "Playgrounds, and the hidden dangers that pose a threat to your child." "The hidden dangers in your water supply." "Is your neighborhood safe?" Basically any statement and then just include "hidden dangers." |

Wrong. and Wrong. Violence in the media relates to networks decisions to air certain news stories ( mostly containing violence ), certain shows ( containing violence ) and even cartoons lately are extremely violent. What do we have now? Children killing eachother on the playground because their imitating the latest fad of a cartoon. Violence in the media then translates to paranoia in society and people feel the need to "protect themselves" and end up killing eachother because of what they've seen on TV. Gun control makes no difference. Notice the part in the movie where he goes up to Canada and discovers Canada owns just as many guns as America! The conclusion of the movie states that the only common factor between every nation is the level of violence people are immersed with from day to day. This is very significant in determining people's behavior with eachother. Virtually everything you know, and everything you do was learned through something you saw somewhere... and the media is a very big factor. EVERYONE NEEDS TO SIT DOWN, AND ACTUALLY WATCH THE FUCKING MOVIE. |

dude...you need to chill. Michael Moore makes movies where you draw your own conclusion...many, many different points with no clear conclusion. this is his style.

Violence in the media is stressed. The ease in which you can not only obtain a firearm but ammo as well. The air of fear we thrive on here in America. The political grandstanding that both sides do using the dead bodies of children as pulpits. The list goes on. |

Dude you are an asshole and you took a quote of mine completly out of context. ![]() ![]() You are as bad as he iswith this shit. Just show them what you want them to see. What I was talking about was how he was interviewing heston and said multiple time im a member of the nra then followed him yelling look at this girl look at her. Thereby insinuating that it was somehow his responsibility that the incident happened |

And to elaborate, the part of the movie you're referring to is when he was having a brain-storming session with Heston to inquire his thoughts on why America has such a higher crime-rate than foriegn nations. The picture had nothing to do with making Heston feel responsible for the incident, it was merely to see if the guy had any soul whatsoever when he decided to march his arrogant ass into all the cities where these tragedies occured. And apparently he has no heart... because he pretended he had zero knowledge of the events prior to holding his conventions in those cities. |

Look you are an asshole for taking my quote out of context and putting it you own thread trying to make me look bad. I never disputed the fact that he knew or denied it. Did I???? But as I said you don't think the anti gun nuts were out in full force saying ban all guns right along with the nra pro gun nuts sharing their views. But that wasn't in the movie was it. He shows a skewed point of view in his movie that's was my whole point. He is trying to insight people into seeing things as he dose which I think is dangerous. Show all the facts not just the ones relevant to you cause or beliefs and let people make up their own minds. |
