All other things being equal, of course I would employ someone in my own country, but things aren't equal. You can buy the same product (labor) for much less in another country, and any good businessman would take advantage of that.

Its smart business. Just think about everything you buy in stores. Think it was made here ? Fuck no, companies cant be competitive paying an American to do the work. Instead everything is made in Taiwan, India, Philippines, and China.

MILLIONS are without work and it's getting worse because of GREED.

Greed is good. America was built on greed. Without greed businesses wouldn't exist. Deal with it.

well, generally speaking the two are the same. Think it through you fucking agitator. If I pay less labor, I make more. If I make more, I can spend more on shit that I want, thereby increaseing consumer spending. Which is good for the economy. Even if I buy items made in other countries, we still win.

There are other benefits, especially in the long term.

Americans who can't get work need to renew their skillsets and get off their collective lazy asses.

Exactly.

Anyone who complains about outsourcing, but yet has purchased items made in other countries is a hypocrite.

Buying labor from another country is no different than buying products from another country.

There is a difference between the kind of greed that inspires competition and growth and the kind of greed that serves only to keep poor people poor.

Say whatever you want.

The truth still stands: MILLIONS are without work in America and it's getting worse because of GREED.

Not entirely. In many cases we don't have a choice. Beyond that, we did not deliberately seek out an individual to impoverish with low wages. Guys like KRL did that. :thumbsup

Funny how some people want THE BENEFITS but none of THE COSTS.

Typical human nature.

Newsflash: Greed is what will make it better. Greed is what will build mega corporations in America to provide those people with jobs.

Greed makes economies grow.

I suggest you study some basic economics.

I don't see how you can get high and mighty about that? There are hundreds of millions in the same boat. Are they somehow less important because they aren't American?

I'm fairly sure KRL is employing WILLING WORKERS. He's not putting a gun to their head and forcing them to work for those wages. THEY WANT TO WORK FOR THOSE WAGES!

You are so stuck on that false argument it's pathetic. You should really try to think with that little blob that you call a brain.

This thread really proves what a complete moron you really are.

Illicit 02-22-2004 11:58 PM

Ever wonder why you keep seeing these outsourcing guys on this board. Its easy money for them. If they can get paid in American money, at a decent rate, their lifestyle changes dramatically. Heck, if I lived there I would be cashing in on you people big time. I wouldnt even have to know how to do shit, I would take your money and hire some guys for the local wage, and pocket the rest.

Who the hell should it enrich? The trailer trash on Jerry Springer?

Don't kid yourself. He's looking for desperate workers that he can exploit. If that were not the case, he'd use some of his millions to run an ad in the local paper. I'm sure he could find a college kid for $10 or $15 an hour but no, that would cut into profits just a little bit too much.

I will agree that a person that runs a company has a right to get rich, hell, that is why we are here. At the same time, that person has a moral obligation to see to it that his employees (the people that helped him get rich) are able to prosper as well.

And we are. The people who are being outsourced to get a hefty raise in income to make their lives better.

Yes, Willing Workers in another fucking country while his brothers and sisters in America go jobless so he can save a couple dollars an hour.

It's Pathetic.

It's GREED.

I'm fairly sure KRL is in business to make money, why would he want to pay more money for something that he could get for less?

Businesses aren't charities. They exist for one reason ---> profit

People making $15,000 a year in India are prospering relative to the average of $3,000 a year everyone else makes. It helps to think in relative terms.

The profit motive does not exempt him from caring about people as much as he seems to care about dogs.

Making a profit is one thing.

Putting your fellow Americans out of work so you can pocket another million is another thing.

Some people have a heart...and some do not.

Some people care for their neighbors...and fellow Americans, and some do not.

It's as simple as that.

First off I asked this tech how much are your services. I didn't say I'm going to pay you this or that. I let him tell me.

I pay Americans techs $35 an hour.

This fellow just happened to be highly qualified and based in India.

I didn't go searching out a foreigner. He just happened to be the one that was the most qualified for the task I needed and he offered me his services at a very good rate.

So it has nothing to do with greed. Its just a business decision and that's how it turned out.

KRL,

After reading many of your posts over the last few months, I really thought you were one that cared about the well being of people...your neighbors...fellow Americans.

I really hope that is true.

I admit I would be very disappointed if I were to be proven wrong...and I think I was tonight.

Do you say the same thing to people who drive import cars instead of Fords and GM cars?

Do you say the same thing to people who buy clothes made in other countries?

By the way, what country was the computer you're using made in? If it wasn't made in America then you're a hypocrite because you purchased a product from another country instead of from an American company which employed your "brothers and sisters"
