ARS drops BYOT - List Other BYOT programs

ARS is dropping every byot site created. We have until the end of March. They are starting a new BYOT program and it will not include Trial sign ups only monthly. This is going to put a damper on my total daily initial sign ups. We have to pay for it because their members area can not retain members.

Please list other programs offering BYOT. Thanks

What program is this for? Do you have trial option? Do you pay per sign up? How much do you pay per sign up? Rewards points?
I have high quality ebony traffic.

Dam about time I did the same thing! I think they are trying to slide out of the adult market or something. I'm tired of the changes way to often.

With AVS you have to create a members area for your site. With BYOT you only create the tour. With BYOT the program the byot is listed under maintains the members area. I dont know of any AVS programs that will pay out $30-$37 per $2.99 trial sign up. ARS was paying out that much for trials but now they are removing the trial option. I need to find a BYOT program that has trials and also a members area that can retain members. Initially with Pay per sign ups a webmaster should not care about retention but it is important if you want the BYOT program to be successful. Otherwise if their byot program is not retaining they will just close it down or remove trial options like ARS did.

p1mpdogg, yes I am aware of that. Your program is highly recommended by many of my associates. A few questions.

1. Do I have to create a BYOT named after one of your pay sites or can we give the BYOTs what ever name we want? Or would I need to create a tour with HOOD HONEY as the logo if I wanted to promote ebony? Either is fine.

2. I couldnt find any areas in the epiccash admin that listed byot linking codes.

3. Can I buy some content and have it licensed to your company that way you can add it to your ebony zip file and I can use it in the tour? Most of the photos in your ebony zip file are saturated.

I do very well with ARS byots the I created but they removed the trial option and because of it I am looking elsewhere to send my traffic.

either name it after one of our sites, or reg a domain and transfewr it to us

byot sites are listed as regular tours, so nobody knows which is a byot and what isnt except you and the people you tell

you can buy content and license it to us we need the docs

Ok PERFECT, I will need your business name and address that you want the licenses under. I will email for that. What email address? I own Dutybooty.com, i will have it transferred over. How? Sales are 1:80 on that site for me on average. Not very graphical but it cranks in sales. I can redesign it to look more like my sites http://buttfetish.com , http://thicklife.com , http://gfextreme.com if you want more pretty designs. I can transfer those sites over as well.

WTF, I guess I have to look for the content producers who have the girls in my BYOT tour and take it into our own program. It never did anything with ARS anyway.

I hate hassles.

Actually we are dropping the BYOT program all together. We'll be releasing a new product and leaving the inferior product behind for 'other' programs to use. Our new product has a new trademarked name and is far superior to what BYOTs are of today.

Also, the program will outconvert the existing BYOT for a few reasons, even without a trial price More news of this new program will be posted Feb 23rd (this coming Monday) as well as the release of our brand new product which will simply BLOW away the conversion ratios of most of the sites out there and most definitely out convert the existing ARS portfolio!

I dont see how sales will increase when youll only be offering a monthly sign up option and no trials. UNLESS you have the "1 Hour" free option that allows people access for 1 hour and if they stay longer than they THEN they are charged for a month.

xster - I believe our new BYOT replacement will sell better because

1.) Much better content for better tours
2.) Access to all the sites in the network
3.) No cross sells (this is a big one)
4.) Not processed by 3rd party billers
5.) Cheaper monthly price than $39.99

Its a natural evolution of the BYOT product and it will sell!

Those 3 points alone sound very promising. Especially number 4, your own merchant accounts I imagine?

Let me know when it's out, I'm quite intrigued.

I made enough from ARS's BYOT 1 program to get a down payment for my first house - that must have been about 1.5 years ago now. That's a lot of traffic and webmaster support that i've built up over that time to get me here and to be still making money off them.

I love ARS, and they still go brilliantly for me, but I can't help but feel ARS dropping these BYOTS without so much of an apology or compensation or whatever to the people who have invested so much time and money into their company that it's a big FUCK YOU from them.

Marc I emailed you twice and harassed you over the ARS BBS, and still never received a reply from you, which you assured me would happen.

I AM slightly bitter, because I convert 1:66 off TGP traffic for my BYOTs, and I seriously doubt any new product would beat that. I stand to lose 600-800US a week from the BYOT $5 frees alone, not to mention my previously linked THOUSANDS of galleries, domains, banners, EVERYTHING linked.

You guys have my support, and sure you have to break eggs to make an omlette, but I kinda wish that you wouldnt pretend that everything is completely rosey; that this puts many people in a difficult money situation, a blow that could have been softened even by a semi personal email.

I can't understand how that business model didn't work. Letting people offer anything and then giving them the same old shitty members area, how did they have problems converting from trials?

lil2rich - not in my book. I don't do business with numbers, I do business with webmasters, people, faces, names quantum-x has a legitimate beef, I have a legitimate reponse - I have yet to receive a single email.

Now, quantum, in terms of an apology or compensation - have you heard yet what I will do for webmasters who already have BYOTs? The information has yet to be given, the only reason ANYBODY knows now before we release information on Monday was out of MY courtesy to our webmasters.

I'm glad to hear I have your support! I feel I've always done my part to support our WMs and will continue to do so! I am well aware of the investment some WMs have put into making BYOTs... I"m also well aware of the $$ I've sent those who've made that investment! Likewise, I do have a nice offer in return for those contributors.

Again, my email is [email protected] - I use Spam Arrest, you must auth yourself and I'm telling you 100% I have yet to receive an email from you... That said, you have me on ICQ and if you don't 46972932 I'm always available.

Marc,

I do not promote ARS directly, but send my traffic to a program which survives by your BYOT program.

because of this announcement you made he is killing our relationship and i am out for about $4k monthly. Not enough to put me in the hole, but enough for me to be pretty upset about the announcement.

You have obviously been in business longer than me and most likely know the business much better than I do, so i wont question your intent to make things better, or reasoning behind removing the program.

But if their is a better program coming, something that can compete with the BYOT numbers, i beg you to release the msg ASAP.

I think you mentioned monday? Which i guess is soon enough, i just hope my program decides to use this new program of yours, or else i am out for some cash.

thanks for the reply, sorry to sound selfish.

good luck on your new stuff.

Quantum I am in the same boat with private byots that average 1:80. Lets just face the facts. More people WILL join a site if it has trial options $1-5 dollars than a site that only offers a month price. Our sales are going to drop PERIOD. There is nothing they can offer or do that will change that. Honestly im getting tired of hearing we are going to make MORE money with the new program. It is IMPOSSIBLE unless you send a ton more traffic. I ran pay sites for years and I know what a difference it is when trials are taken away. Sales drop. Thats it. BUT I am very curious as to what their claim is. What is the magic that is going to make surfers whip out their credit cards and drop 30 bucks FASTER then they would drop 3 bucks. They must be giving out free blow jobs. If I am wrong about my wisdom ill appologize. Until then get prepared to lose a shit load of income every week byoters!

I know you're not basing this on fact. I can understand how you'd think that SHOULD be the case, but in fact it is NOT. I tried $2.95 trials early last year for a few months. The conversion ratio was NO BETTER than it was when I switched it to full price sign up. To be honest, the conversion rate went UP slightly when I took away the trials.

It seems human psychology relates price to value. Price something TOO LOW and no one wants to buy it because they assume it is junk.

This is my experience with trials.

BTW: the percentage of those converting from the trial to a full price was even MORE horrible... why would anyone want to pay for a full month when they can download a month's worth of content in 3 days? They can join for the trial each month, download the previous month's content, and cancel.

Does this make ANY sense?

I also have a bunch of links pointing to BYOTs and I know that by the time the program is dropped I will still be sending traffic b/c of the galleries I have made. It will be hard to change the pages, b/c as you all know once you change a gallery page you risk the chance of being blacklisted. The question I have is where will the traffic be redirected to? Does anyone know?

Please list other programs offering BYOT. Thanks
I feel for you man, because I know that a bunch of webmasters have made an entire business of BYOTs. From what I've read on the ARS BBS , the BYOTs convert better than the regular paysites. Having the BYOTs with no trial really sucks and stacks the deck in favor of the regualr ARS paysites. I've got tons of galleries that use BYOT sponsor links, so I guess I won't expect many conversions from those once things change.

You might want to look into some premium AVSs if you can design good tours. I don't know about the Epic BYOT, but I would check for feedback from multiple webmasters before I invested a lot of time it.

Good luck. I had strongly considered doing a couple of BYOTs in niches that didn't have many. Glad I didn't invest the time and resources.

Ouch, that's pretty big news. I had heard a rumour of something going to happen; guess that could be it.

Cheers,

"I know you're not basing this on fact."

And how do you know this? Have you looked at his stats or do you just know everything?

Just because something works with your site doesn't mean it works with every other site on the planet. Trials can make a huge difference. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. It depends on the site, content, marketing, traffic, etc.

Your absolutely correct about bad retention when you offer trials. But BYOT is per sign up and not recurring. Webmasters choose to advertise PPS because they dont want to have to deal with worrying about cancelations/retention. So that point really has nothing to do with what my argument was about. Sure retention is important for the success of byot programs as a whole. If the members area doesnt retain then byot will be closed down.

YOur also correct about how in some cases gross sales increase when you raise the join price. I have only seen this actually happen when trials were raised from like $4.99 to $12.95. If you have a product/service in big demand and not readily available elsewhere for less you can get away with inflated prices, sure. No disagreement there.
