Accepting Donations: John Kerry

I'm sure his views on porn are not as ridiculous as those of our current administration. Do our business a favor, OR you can just donate money to someone who needs a boob job. Whatever.

I don't think he accepts paypal. hehe.

What do you base this on?
And I mean aside from the blind hatred of the Bush clan.

It would be political suicide to directly defend pornography, but read between the lines:

Quote:
"I think George Bush and his administration has stepped over the line of separation of church and state," Kerry said at Hopkinton High School. "All through our history we have drawn that line," Kerry said. "And I will continue to draw that line."

On the subject of religion, he believes that presidents should "recognize the diversity of faiths and even of agnosticism and atheism," and he takes the politically risky stance of admitting to a "questioning, agnostic stage" after his experience in Vietnam.

I will vigorously protect the separation of church and state. Diversity, freedom of choice and freedom of religion are among the defining characteristics of our nation. I believe we can be people of faith while respecting the principles that are enshrined in our Constitution.

"I think that it's important to not have the church instructing politicians.
That is an inappropriate crossing of the line in America.".
I'll take anyone who doesn't think God put him in office.
Bush thinks God talks to him, and tells him what to do.
"?God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them,
and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did"

The 'War on Porn' is motivated by religious ideology.
The protagonists think God gives them the right to legislate morality.
Keep religion out of politics, and everyone is safer.

Quote:
"No, I don't know that Atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God". George Bush Sr., August 27, 1987
said the man who raised him.

Saying "God Bless America" is customary,
and protected by the 1st Amendment.

It's far from allowing the church to dictate laws,
via proxy of a nut who thinks he's put there to do gods work.

Bush is a puppet of the church,
who are themselves slaves to a history of greed, fear, and lies.

Democrats are not going to come out and say "PORN IS GREAT LONG LIVE PORN" They're not fucking stupid, but they will keep the conservatives (not ultra-conservatives) happy by making some small gesture of change. Politics isn't as simple as a lot of you seem to think it is.

btw..

Kerry voted for the "Communications Decency Act" and Internet censorship.

Kerry voted for pumping tax money into churches.

Kerry voted for mandatory national ID cards.

Kerry voted for wiretapping with no court order required.

Kerry voted for the DMCA.

Kerry voted for the "PATRIOT" act which he now criticizes.

Kerry voted for the Iraq war, which he now criticizes.

Kerry voted for the Bush education bill, which he now criticizes.

Kerry twice voted for the expansion of the death penalty, something he claims to be against.

I don't really like Kerry, but at least he seems openminded.

And, as a general rant,
changing your opinion doesn't make you a bad guy!

I don't know why we hold this against our elected leaders.
You're running a country, not cheering a sports team.
You're supposed to do whatever evidence suggests is right.
As new evidence comes to light, re-evaluate.
After you put theory into practice, re-evaluate.

Maybe the PATRIOT act sounded good at first glance,
but a lot of nasty surprises were slipped in, leading to abuse,
and so some changes are in order.

ditto with 'No Child Left Behind'.

It's only wise to make decisions based on results.
It's the right thing to do to admit when you are wrong.
Then you can correct it. Otherwise all you get is ego
and blind stubborn counterproductive political bullshit.
(see 'War on Drugs')

That's a problem with people who continue to cherish 'faith'
(in spite of all evidence to the contrary) as a virtue.
IMO it's a psychological defect.

So you'd have no problem applying this to the whole WMD thing, and give Bush a pass on that right?

Right.

I realize our little civilization usually doesnt work this way,
but to me he would have lost less credibility if (months ago)
he had just apologized to us and explained to the world:

"Our best evidence suggested he had the weapons we told you he did. Knowing what we know now, we were wrong. I promise you we will be completely shameless in our self evaluation. We will cooperate with investigations into where our intelligence went wrong. We will be open with our allies. I want to assure the world that we will take every possible measure to ensure that you will be able to trust US intelligence in the future."

That is, if it really was just a disasterous mistake.
If he intentionally exagerated the evidence, the no, he doesn't get a pass.
We should expect a President to make decisions based on evidence.
Not decide first, then creatively arrange supporting evidence.

...and why do we need to donate money to a guy that married the heir to the Heinz ketchup fortune, worth more than a couple billion?

When Kerry was around to vote on something, it was only 23% of the time.
