You get what you pay for. I spend $14.95/year for each domain, but I get to sleep at night - unlike when I was with GoDaddy.

I have been using Dotster exclusively since GoDaddy fucked me over. I was in the process of moving my servers out of ePaul 200 in Cali when they had thier big fuckup last year and GoDaddy wouldnt let me into my account so I could change my name servers. They said it was "locked for my protection". I was so pissed I was about ready to go out to thier offices personally and deal with it.

I will never register another domain with those screwballs.

But I had the last laugh on them - I charged them back for literally hundreds of domain registrations and renewals - after I moved them all to Dotster. I am sure someone there shit a brick when the fax machine started ringing with Visa faxing them miles of chargeback notices.

Well, if it helps you feel any better, I had used godaddy for a couple of domains, and just used them again last night for another domain, but with all this, I'm gonna start looking around for another

Edit -

Can I change registrars after registering a domain name?
Yes. You can change registrars at anytime once your domain has been registered for 60 days.
per ev1servers.net

Well, guess I gotta wait....

For three years I used Go Daddy for my mainstream web clients and i never EVER once had a problem and i would have recomended them to anyone in the world, I thought they could do NO WRONG.

That is Untill i started in the adult industry.

From that moment on i have had nothing but probs with go daddy no matter what the issue i had was the minute i gave a domain name their whole fucking tone changed. at one point i had 200 domains listed with godaddy now i have 3 (untill they run out)

My Godaddy is your best friend as long as you handle mainstream sites (i had some issues with a mainstream account last year that had gotten hacked and the ppl responsible used the domain name to spam out over 4, million emails about re-finacing your house or some shit. Go daddy was more then happy to work with me rather then take away the domain name.

However with my adult sites, and some of my mainstream clients adult sites we have lost 2 domain names last year do to similar situations.

Bottom line Porn + Goddady = SHIT Stay Away From Go Daddy If You Do Adult.

Big ups to registerfly, my new best freinds in domain names

I think that GoDaddy is run by some right wing christian fundamentalists. they don't want to do adult but they are forced to and the way to fuck with adult is to yank domains at will.

I hope that the domain isn't gone forever. That would suck.

If the domain is/was registered only and not hosted. They subjected you to the following policy found at https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/legal...scssid=2310465

I suggest filing a complaint with ICANN and the BBBOnline as the registrar must prove such action[s] prior to enforcing the same. Such proof will minimally require a copy of the header information.

7. RESTRICTION OF SERVICES; RIGHT OF REFUSAL

You agree not to use the services provided by Go Daddy, or to allow or enable others, to use the services provided by Go Daddy for the purposes of:

* The transmission of unsolicited email (SPAM)
* Repetitive, high volume inquires into any of the services provided by Go Daddy (i.e. domain name availability, etc.).

You agree that Go Daddy, in its sole discretion and without liability to You, may refuse to accept the registration of any domain name. Go Daddy also may in its sole discretion and without liability to You delete the registration of any domain name during the first thirty (30) days after registration has taken place. Go Daddy may also cancel the registration of a domain name, after thirty (30) days, if that name is being used in association with spam or morally objectionable activities. Morally objectionable activities will include, but not be limited to: activities designed to defame, embarrass, harm, abuse, threaten, slander or harass third parties; activities prohibited by the laws of the United States and/or foreign territories in which You conduct business; activities designed to encourage unlawful behavior by others, such as hate crimes, terrorism and child pornography; activities that are tortious, vulgar, obscene, invasive of the privacy of a third party, racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable; activities designed to impersonate the identity of a third party; and activities designed to harm minors in any way. In the event Go Daddy refuses a registration or deletes an existing registration during the first thirty (30) days after registration, You will receive a refund of any fees paid to Go Daddy in connection with the registration either being canceled or refused. In the event Go Daddy deletes the registration of a domain name being used in association with spam or morally objectionable activities, no refund will be issued.

Ive used Namecheap for as long as I can remember and I have most of my high profile domains on there. 8.88 for a domain for 1 year you cant beat that. and they take PAYPAL! I just paypal a couple hundred bucks into my account and buy domains whenever I need them there is even an express register button if there is a domain you really want just type it in hit express and its yours no forms to fill out or anything.

absolute must have in anycase its http://www.namecheap.com

You will usually end up paying more, one way or the other.
ok, my next one is with DirectNIC.com
