BulkRegister
So, I was just curious about this and I know old school guys might still be with bulk register. I have over 1000 domains with them.
This didn't happen to me, but was posted on another forum. Email was sent to a domain owner.. ie bulkregister members: --- Your client, owner of the above domain name would like to make changes to their domain name. They have tried contact you to no avail. Please contact this client and help them make the necessary changes. According to ICANN regulations, if the changes are not done within 5 business, then we will give client access to manage their domain name. Please contact the client and also reply to this email within 5 business days, if I dont hear from you within 5 business days, then I will cleint access to manage the name. Thank you for your corporation. Sincerely, phyllis T BulkRegister. support --- So this means if you go away on vaction or just fuck off for a week bulk register will release your domain name??.. Fucken idiots.. In this case it was a scam, the guy had no rights to the domain name in the first place. Is this farting dust?, can't this be abused? 5 days? wtf.. |

I used to do a lot of biz with BR. Too many support issues, too little support. I found their security risks unacceptable, and they just wouldn't address them. They can also be inconvenient for large numbers of names, like some global changes require you to click five times per name and such, which is ridiculous considering they're oriented toward bulk registrations.
If you register in quantities of 1000 or more, I recommend dotregistrar or enom. There are several registrars that provide decent support for large quantities of names, but these two combine that with decent bulk pricing. Directnic has a number of fans here, who laud their responsive support, but the price is higher, and in my experience, the stuff I need support for is stuff that shouldn't have come up in the first place. Not to mention they seem to have a five day "auto ack" policy which defaults to transferring if you don't say otherwise...unless maybe that's adjustable and I just didn't find the setting to disable it. |
