When we owned Netpond....we did loads of workshops etc etc

I'd say out of 100 newbies

85 after a year still believed no one shaved. (4yrs later prolly 30 are still in the game)
5 became personalities
5 ending up making a good living
5 Did very well.

The odds now are worse.

The main change is loads of people making a grand or two a month and doing this cause there only other job opportunity is as Brad says "wendy's"

You forgot one statistic. Some of us quietly watched for years and learned and earned. Thru all the condoms/ponds/surprises the song remained the same.

I disagree the odds now are perfect. Scam artists selling cigarette club memberships or charging $10 to ship you a copy of the software you just downloaded ....both with $80 prechecked cross sales...they will be off with your buddy Bruce Bortell doing what all scammers do in the end.

The station is an interesting experiment. I Ive already got several people emailing me on how the revenue is going to suck from it. I told em to go ahead and advertise on Albumside then. Dokk is a nice guy!

I didn't think the success rate was that high back then.. I agree the odds are worse now.. I remember being able to count the number of webmasters who were worth a shit on one hand about every 6 months.
