I thought we (the US) made that happen... not russia.

The islamic plea for extremists around to region to come kill Westerners in Iraq started right after the war. Most of the violence (car bombings, etc) is tied to these factions. As for Chechen terrorists, I doubt many will come. They've got their hands too full with their own terror campaigns to worry about Iraq.
