I remember that..... wicked car.

How much to pick your brain for an hour? You would be the only one I would pay to see how your business mind works.

strange.

that's encouraging, as I'm 6'4........ :)

I'm one or two pounds overweight though and that usually adds to a comfort problem in sports cars.

take the mercedies 55sl for example - I was fine with the top down, my hair might have gotten a little more wind than most but that's ok, I was scrunched with the top up.

Yeah, my back KILLS after a drive in the S.

After buying the Supra, I need to put Recaros in anything I drive. They are like getting a massage just sitting in them. :)

A Supra might not be your idea of a high-end car, as you can pickup a nice one for about 40k, but they are extremely fast, and very rare.

That Caddy should fit you as well, I believe it's made on the Corvette chassis. Should have a ton of room for the North American market. My S2000 is designed around people who aren't in the land of Supersize and Big Gulps. :(

hehe, my truck's worth more than a supra.

if I get a chance I'll look at the caddy - assuming i can find one in winnipeg.

Quite good choice. Personally I think with the top down the Cabriolet looks great but with the top up I like the Coupe much more. I was not aware that the Cabriolet lost so much performance till I looked it up.
A standard Coupe Turbo with 415hp does 0-60 in 3.9 Sec

The X-50's
2004 Porsche 911 (twin) Turbo awd (X50) (0-60) 3.7 (1/4 mile 11.86 @ 119.91 Braking 110'

2004 Porsche 911 (twin) Turbo awd (X50) Cabriolet (0-60) 4.06 (1/4 mile 12.31 @ 120.63 Braking 119'

Hey Quite if your looking for the fastest convertible look no further than the new SL600. It does 0-60 in like 3.6 Sec and the 1/4 mile in 11.90 @ 120mph 493hp and 590lb of torque.

But I still like the Porsche more :winkwink:

quiet 02-15-2004 10:41 PM

don't know where you got your numbers from, but the sl600 is not even remotely that fast.

plus, it's not a sports car.

http://www.fast-autos.net/mercedes/03mercedessl600.html

sl600 numbers. 4.7 to 60.

It's because of the weight difference. Any convertible loses stability and rigidity because of the lack of roof, so they have to stiffen up the body and add heavy bracing to compensate. In any case where there is a coupe and a convertible version of the same car, the convertible will be heavier.

TrafficBuyers 02-15-2004 10:53 PM

Hello fuzebox ,

I am totally aware of that I was just surprised it lost that much performance. :-)

already found a link for it.

Zero to 60 mph: 3.6 sec
Zero to 100 mph: .8.6 sec
Zero to 120 mph: .11.9 sec
Street start, 5-60 mph: 4.5 sec
Standing 1/4-mile: 11.9 sec @ 120 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 155 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 178 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.88 g
EPA fuel economy, city driving: 13 mpg
C/D-observed fuel economy: 14 mpg

odd that i looked at 6 different sites, and they all had waaaaay slower number, besides car and driver.

regardless, nice car. not a sports car at all (not even remotely), but a nice car.

It's a Beast none the less. It's the Luxury car that kicks Sports cars asses.
Pretty amazing. Good thing it's not a sports car. LOL

BTW that Car & Driver is tested by them up against other cars that did 0-60 in 4.5 and blew them away.

i am fucking jealous, I've been looking for a high end sports car for some time now that I can fit into. A real one too, not one of your make believe cars.

Am I jealous that quiet can buy several - hell no, I'm HAPPY for him.

i'm leaning towards a rebuilt old classic car for myself though - they were usually bigger.

i LOVE the paint on your car quiet - I had a 4X4 truck with a similar color.

JoeyAF 02-15-2004 11:28 PM

I have 2, 911 & a boxster. Good 4 the ladies:Graucho
