You should take the Herbalife shake but if you need to gain weight, you should drink it after and not instead of meals. It is very healthy, soy based and you'll like it. www.herbalife.com and good luck.

:thumbsup

thanks, Digi :)

Since I added cinnamon to my daily routine, when I come back from a workout, the cravings are no longer there. Zero, zippo. I can look at a candy bar now and not have the urge to munch it at all.

were you dieting before? are you saying it keeps you on track? were you exercising at the same rate prior to the mixture. I am a little mythed about the honey cause my mom is a diabetic and honey always spikes up her sugar

Jer 02-19-2004 08:16 AM

KRL, I paid $1 for 3.5oz of green tea. I hope it's good!

And clicking a "sponsored link" on google, I found the same fucking brand for $10.50!

webair 02-19-2004 08:34 AM

so where are you at ? how much did you lose?

kelly 02-19-2004 08:41 AM

I was diagnosed as borderline diabetic just over 6 years ago, my sugar was stable at 7.6 (a bit too high), I took up a bet that I would lose weight on Atkins, figured it was an easy way to make money (my previous diet was based on baked potato, veg and chicken/fish), totally lost that bet and my blood sugar is an average 4.6 :thumbsup

At first I was a little wary about using this green tea concoction bescause of the honey but it hasn't upped my blood sugar at all and my weight loss has increased - thanks KRL, now I just have to convince the rest of my family to try it :)

JFK 02-19-2004 08:51 AM

Thanks for the info I shall try it:thumbsup

First off, anyone who is presently being treated for a diabetic condition or any type of medical condition should always discuss anything else they plan on taking with their doctor first.

In answer to your questions, I've been watching my food intake. It does seem to help keep you on track and lower the cravings. Yes same exercise rate. Only thing different was adding cinnamon to the mix. Yes honey can spike your blood sugar. Try it without it then.

Nysus 02-19-2004 09:30 AM

I love cinnamon.
I love green tea.
I love honey.
I love lemons.

Question is -- What else did you change in your diet and are you more concious of? Simply being concious and thinking of what you're putting into your body will help you lose weight.

You inspired me to drink that daily though. I will start that as my breakfast every morning.

Cheers,
Matt

Its actually very frightening and verges on a very deep conspiracy within the Congress to help the drug companies keep raping our wallets.

Pharmacuticles are the most profitable industry, with an average 28% margin.

KRL -- You should start a web site with these remedies and information on them. Use or find a type-in domain. Help people out. Have a donation button as well, I'd definitely donate money towards useful information pertaining to health. Would be a start page for me even.

Yakov has overweight.com doesn't he? Might be a good start. :)

Cheers,
Matt

haha I was just thinking the same thing.

I'll have to find other ways to increase my cinnamon consumption.

Does it mix well with pepsi ?

:1orglaugh

Lane 02-19-2004 10:53 AM

If this really makes you lose an extra pound per day, I would consider it a miracle, especially for it being a very natural and healthy alternative.

I have / had the same problem. The key to weight gain is PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN. Have a designer protein shake 2-3 times a day along with ass loads of chicken/fish at every meal. You should be eating every 3 hours also. Flax-seed oil helps too. Combine all this with a regular workout schedule and you'll pack on lean muscle mass very quickly.:thumbsup

I realize your joking about that combo, but you won't be loosing ANY weight while drinking pepsi bro.:2 cents:

jonesy 02-22-2004 08:42 PM

before I had read this thread, i just started getting into arizona green tea. good stuff.

I noticed after a few days of drinking it i wasnt as hungry as i usually am and my cravings for carb/sweets were down too.

so there definitly something to this, without a doubt.

so i checked up on green tea and lo and behold

Green Tea has an important ingredient long known for its thermogenic properties, green tea contributes to some major fat burning. A tiny compound in green tea, called epigallocatechin gallate, has been shown to significantly reduce food intake and, subsequently, body weight in healthy adults. Bio flavanoids and polyphenols in green tea also fight harmful free radicals within your body.

so i decided to try it to see how the weight lose works, im sure if i drank a more pure green tea the results would be quicker.

im gonna check it out after my supply of arizona is done (i have 10 of those 2 gallon babies to go)

Danny 02-22-2004 09:52 PM

any idea if chewing on a stick of cinnamon would have the same effect?

mrgica 02-25-2004 12:38 PM

Question for KRL:

I found this cinnamon:

Simply Organic Cinnamon Powder 2.45oz
Kosher: Kosher
Organic: 100% Organic
Botanical Name: Cinnamomum cassia

http://store.ediblenature.com/so-cin...owder-org.html

Can I use this cinnamon?

IPK 02-25-2004 12:40 PM

maybe i'm going to start funnelling liquid cinnamon, maybe that'll work, but i'm already skinny so i guess there really is no point, do you have anything that'll help me gain weight? :Graucho

jimboc 02-25-2004 12:44 PM

Help me,

I'm not very much over weight, just a little, I want to diet but I dont' like the taste of cinnamon or honey. Is there any way of hiding the taste or anything?

jimboc 02-25-2004 12:53 PM

I heard speed is good for weight loss, but illegal

I was watching a cooking show the other day that said the cinnamon you buy in the store isn't really that great. Do you have an online source for the "real" stuff? Raw honey I can get at any roadside stand here in the woods :winkwink: but there's no cinnamon which isn't mass produced.

i honestly like alot of weight on this. It does work you just gotta have motivation like anything else.

rickholio 05-09-2004 02:02 AM

I've been drinking green tea + honey (no cinnamon, but sounds like a GREAT idea, thanks!), been consuming a relatively low glycemic index diet to keep my insulin response low, working out at least 3-4 times a week with weights and interval cardio (getting my heart rate to swing between 60-80%), supplimenting and doing all the 'right' things to the best of my knowledge, and I've been averaging around 1.5lbs a week.

KRL - I understand it's a sensitive question, but I must know... can you please share with us your stats, ie. starting and current weight? 7lbs a week, except when purging excess fluids, seems like an awfully fast drop, and not sustainable unless you started out pretty large (ie. 300lbs+).

Just to show that I don't ask anything of anyone that I'm not prepared to do myself: I'm 6'2" + large framed (9" wrist), currently around 110kg, and I'm targetting at 100kg with, or 95kg without, my current rate of lean mass growth.

Juicy D. Links 01-25-2005 06:26 PM

bump good thread

BlogTexter 01-25-2005 06:31 PM

I'm going to give this a try.

hydro 01-27-2005 01:23 PM

can't belive i didnt see this thread earlier. I like to go on trips and usually eat out at places like taco bell, kfc, pizza hut etc. Whenever i go i make sure to pack some cinnamon and green tea. I don't about losing wieght with it but i sure as hell don't gain any by drinking 2 or 3 cups a day. I could pig out at a buffet and not gain any wieght

TheMob 01-27-2005 01:29 PM

Or you could just eat less junk
