I saw lost In Translation last night

I give that movie a HUGE 2

Bill Murray is awesome, and I loved the subliminal humor-
I hope it wins some Oscars

So it's worth buying? I was gonna buy it the other day and didn't hear any reviews on it so I held back. Think I may now.

His expressions in the movie are priceless-
I am still laughing about -"LATPACK"
The ending was a bit disappointing- but I guess it had to end that way-

Wonder if there could ever be a sequel.

"LATPACK"

I really enjoyed it but it isn't for people that can't watch a film where nothing much happens. Meaning there aren't huge car chases or explosions. Instead, it is a study of a relationship and brilliantly done.

Plus, I love the karoke sex pistols bit.

It won some what? The Academy Awards are later this month. It won a few Golden Globes.
And I thought this was one of the real hidden gems from this year's movies. Bill Murray is terrific. Such an understated role with his dry brand of humor, and Scarlett Johnansson is a budding star. It's going to be tough for the picture to win any Oscars because they don't separate dramas and comedy/musicals like the Golden Globes.
If Sean Penn doesn't win the best actor Oscar--and he deserves to--then I hope Bill Murray does.
Just my

Sean Penn is the odds on favorite according to www.betonsports.com at -300, but Bill Murray is next at even money.

While I thought there were some great sight gags in the movie, it just didn't work for me. After the movie was over, I asked myself: "What was that movie all about? A travelog for Tokyo or what?"

If there was a plot (besides the old "two unhappily married people become friends in this hotel"), I couldn't find one.

So, frankly, gotta give it a thumbs down.

And if you thought Bill Murray was great..he was simply being Bill Murray. Was no real acting on his part imo.

I fucking hated that movie. And I like quirky, independent character study films. Problem is, both of these characters were totally unlikeable, boring, rich people with no redeeming qualities. And the 60 year old man meets 20 year old girl who makes him rediscover his youth plotline is played out and annoying to me...

Comedy is tough acting though. Being able to use a script and knowing what to do so as not to take it over the top is hard.

I liked this movie alot but I also understand why lots of people would find it only okay. For me, the developing relationship between the characters was authentic and did not fall back on some easy stereotypical lolita type relationships. When you consider that almost four decades separate the two, making the the couple fit wasnt so easy. The bittersweet ending where the two have made a connection that is ending on the streets of Tokyo but the viewers know will stay with them forever was quite good I thought. I give it a 8.5/10.

If you watch the movie again you'll see things and hear things you didn't the first time-

Bill Murray is really great at the midl life crisis thing- and while he may never have the part of a romatic leading man- I think his charm pulled it off

Scarlett is a cute little girl with a very promising career-

I don't think many of you critics understand how hard it is to shoot in Tokyo with a steadycam....

The film's artistry far transcends just the dialogue, and funny bits-
