Take him to the vet when they open. You can try asking him what's wrong, say something like "Roooo rooooo rooo, ruf ruf, errrr errrrrrrrrr, roooooo roooo rooo" and see what he tells you. Usually works for me...

Is his nose wet? A dry nose is usually the first sign that a dog is not well.

Its an attention whore

But seriously to answer your question.. a trip to the vet for $50 is what i would recommend if there *IS* something potentially wrong with the dog and you catch it early it will cost a hell of a lot less than if its not caught in time

thats good, then no blockage or uti.

Whats his attitude? is he feeling playful and trying to get your attention to play with you, or does he seem slow and sad, moping aroung?

is he play-bowing you or playing with his toys?

yeah they do eat grass...yukk

If his nose is wet, its drinking, moving and shitting/pissing ok i dont think there is anything wrong with it.

Maybe its just an attention seeker

Keep an eye on it though that's all you can do really (other than take him to the vet when it opens)

Sounds silly but if you have moved your furniture around lately it might have also made the dog restless.

When a dog is sick they usually will not eat or drink, they also tend to go in hiding. In nature it is normal for the "weak" to hide so they are not eaten. He could just need attention. Personally I never take chances though and would rather just bring the dog in for a quick check-up. Better safe than sorry.

One way to tell is if their nose is NOT wet. A dogs nose is or should ALWAYS be wet/moist.

You can tell by their nose... if its dry, that MAY (not always) be a sign that there's a problem.

They eat grass because it irritates their stomache and makes them throwup; doggy form of sticking your fingers down your throat.

Cheers,
Matt

Sounds to me like he just needed to go outside urgently and wanted to get your attention.

If he's eating, peeing, and pooping normally, his nose is wet and he's not acting listless or achy, then he's probably fine. Just wanted to go out really bad.
