Its not a simple question because people attach much different things to the word "God."

I do believe in god.
But I'm sure many would argue that my connection with the universe/energy/creation/cycles/oneness/love is not what their prophet of choice intended.

The belief of the existence of God cannot be answered by a simple yes or no question.

What's funny about it is that the greatest scientists of all time , Newton and Einstein , both not only believed in God , but were motivated as scientists by their religious convictions . Galileo , Copernicus , and even Darwin among others , believed in God .
Yes , of course , some scientists were (are) atheists , but so very many were not that if find a statement such as "I don't believe in God , I believe in science" to be silly .
Note , I am not saying atheism is silly , I am saying invocing science as a reason is .

Did you guys hear that story on yahoo. Some american airline pilot christian freak dude , asked all his christian passengers to raise hands before they left the ground. Then he said " now look around, everyone that doesnt have their hands up is crazy ".

The passengers said that nobody raised their hands, but plenty of people dove for their cell phones. Several people complained while on the plane. Prompting the airline to contact the pilot while he was flying to issue an apology, passengers said he apologized to the crew for having to answer so many questions.
