What's funny about it is that the greatest scientists of all time , Newton and Einstein , both not only believed in God , but were motivated as scientists by their religious convictions . Galileo , Copernicus , and even Darwin among others , believed in God .
Yes , of course , some scientists were (are) atheists , but so very many were not that if find a statement such as "I don't believe in God , I believe in science" to be silly .
Note , I am not saying atheism is silly , I am saying invocing science as a reason is .
